Meal out with mum and dad

We took Mum and Dad out to the 1629 tonight for a meal to thank them for having us stay whilst our house was completed.
We had a lovely meal. I had a seafood omelette to start which was very nice. It was very light but looked a big portion. It had prawns, lobster and scallops with a lovely sauce. For my main course i had steak with prawns and crab with garlic. It was lovely.
Mum had mushrooms stuffed with pate then halibut with pasta. Dad had chicken broth then a seafood parcel of salmon, red snapper and prawns etc.
John had chicken broth then a nice steak with bacon, mushrooms and sauce etc.
We had nice red wine with our meal.
Everyone enjoyed themselves and had a lovely time.
Joanne and Chris looked after Ross and Owen which was good of them.
Menu
Omelette ‘Fantasia’
A seafood omelette of scallops, scampi tails, lobster and prawns laced with a lobster and dill bisque
Champignons Farcis
Mushrooms stuffed with pate and deep fried in batter
Chef’s Chicken Broth
A traditional soup made with chicken, vegetables and pulses
Bistecca 1629
Grilled fillet steak wrapped with smoked bacon, topped with gruyere cheese and laced with tarragon and peppercorn sauce
Bistecca Dragoncello
2 x 4oz. Sirloin steaks grilled with crab, prawns topped with garlic and parsley butter
Fruitti Di Mare ‘Moneybags’
A parcel of salmon, red mullet, lemon sole and prawns with herbs, dijon mustard and lemon butter
Halibut Pesaro
Steamed halibut fillet with red pesto crust on a bed of linguine pasta, roast pepper and coriander coulis

It is Ross's 2nd Halloween and Owen's 1st!
They are going down to stay with my mum and dad tonight. John & i are having a night out.
We had a lovely meal at the Al Bahar. I had king prawn pasanda and john had chicken curry. We had rice and shared a cheesy nan bread.
We went for drinks afterwards which was nice. As it was Halloween there was lots of people dressed up. The pubs were busy and we both enjoyed our night out.
The boys had a lovely time with my mum and dad.

Tuesday 28th October Owen 25 weeks today!
Health visitor came today and thought that Owen was doing very well.
He is now 66cm in length and weighs 18lb 14.5oz!
He was laughing when i laid him on weighing scales and she thought he was such a content, happy baby.
Ross will be 2 years old in a couple of weeks, don't know where the time has gone! It doesn't seem like 5 mins since he was a tiny baby!
He is putting a few words together now, and saying bang bang and go when running about. Will look for his birthday presents in the next week or so.

Thursday 23rd October
John and i took the boys to Brodie today for a look around. I had a nice rockcake and milky coffee and john had a couple of pancakes with a coffee also. Ross had his juice and some of his daddy's pancake. We were getting on fine until Ross spotted a car behind a display. He thought he'd be able to climb in the car but he couldn't get behind the bars...huge temper tantrum followed!!......lots of tears and crying which didn't stop until we left!!
After we went to the park which he enjoyed. Owen went on the swing for the first time and loved it, he was laughing alot!! He also liked the whobbly horse too!

TUESDAY 21ST OCTOBER
Had a nice weekend. Went for lunch to the brewers fayre with Ross, Owen, Mum, Dad and Joanne. I had a lovely pasta with chicken and mushrooms and Ross had chicken nuggets. Jo, Mum and i then went shopping in the afternoon while Dad looked after the boys. Mum coming round this afternoon.
