Wonderbaby is only seven months but he can throw wobblies like a seventeen month old!

In the last couple of weeks he has started kicking and screaming whenever he is prevented from grabbing something he wants.  Like Daddy's beer!

We have watched in interest and then horror as Reed has reached for the beer, we have given him a stern "NO!",  and Wonderbaby, with a deep frown on his sweet little face, has arched his body, thrown back his head and SCREAMED!

It would seem the toddler years are fast heading our way.  If this is just a small slice of what is to come we are in for some wild years.

It might be time to buy the second edition of the 'What to Expect' books. 

'What to Expect - The Toddler Years'!

Reed aka Wonderbaby aka Lovebug outdid himself on our trip to Cuba.  From the first moment we walked onto the plane taking us to our Carribean paradise to the last when we drove off the airport parking lot - Wonderbaby wowed everyone! 

He giggled at the customs officers and made them smile.  He cooed and blew raspberries at the flight attendants ensuring we had extra pillows and attention the entire flight.  At the resort he was fawned over by staff, guests and locals alike.  He was adopted unofficially by kind seniours who wished he were their grandson and he even wooed gruff rough twenty-something men who grimaced at the baby boarding their flight - only to become grinning fools as Reed worked his natural born charm on them all.

Yep, Wonderbaby has inherited Poppa Crombie's charisma.  He has the gift of the schmooze!  Which isn't so terrible considering where this talent has taken his grandfather.  Its just amazing to see it in someone so young.  Who knew a seven month old could play the game so well!

What other talents will our Wonderbaby reveal?

At the ripe old age of six months Wonderbaby already has stamps in his passport, he has experienced the joy (and fear!) of flying and he is fast becoming a well travelled wee lad.

He has a stamp from his christmas trip to visit Granni Anni and Grumpy Grandy in the UK, and soon he will have a stamp from his trip to Cuba.

Once we add the US and New Zealand to it (both should happen this year) Reed will have travelled more in 12 months than some people do in 12 years!

Of course he will also be armed with four passports.  He will be very lucky when he is older.

We can see many many travel adventures ahead for our Wonderbaby.

It is now common knowledge that our wonderbaby is a terrible sleeper.   However the past two weeks he has outdone even himself.   Mummy was starting to wonder if she would ever sleep again!

Well, it would appear that its going to take a tooth or two to make that happen.  Reed has his first on its way (his bottom left) so he is in alot of pain and is very fussy at night. 

However there is an end in sight, one that will result in our little boy being the proud owner of a new set of teeth.  In the meantime - its lots of coffee for Mummy!

Mummy and Reed were having fun one morning playing the 'jumping game', where Reed jumps up and down on her lap with a big goofy smile on his face.  All of a sudden Wonderbaby stopped jumping and with a calm look on his face he locked his little legs into place and...STOOD!

It took Mummy a moment to realize what had just happened, and then in wonder she saw her baby was indeed standing with only a little support from her.  Reed of course was very nonchalant about the whole thing, as though he had always known how to stand and had just been waiting for the right moment to show everyone.

So it looks like hes found a new trick to wow us all with.   What will he come up with next?

Well, so much for having six months of wonderful fun with a baby who is unable to move himself from the position we place him in!

Reed Wonderbaby has figured out that he can move himself from Point A to Point B by using his newly discovered rolling skills. (see the video section of this site for visual proof) He even gave his mummy a big surprise when she lay him down on the floor while she went to get something, only to come back and find him lying on the other side of the room!  He now rolls all over the house and even off a bed or two, much to our horror!

Guess its time to start that baby proofing!

When it comes to laughter there is one person who can always charm a chuckle out of our little man.  His Daddy.

He tickles and whistles and jiggles them out of him and from all around the house the sound of laughter can be heard.

For the winter weary parent it really is the best medicine!

...and before we forget, while our little wonderbaby looks blonde in all his photos, he is actually starting to show signs of perhaps inheriting his Daddy's coloring.

His once very pale eyelashes have turned a shade of brown and they are now long and tapered just like Daddy's.  We've also noticed his hair is getting darker.

So its still up for debate as to whose coloring he will end up with.  For now he has his Mummy's light eyes and hair, however we have a sneaky suspicion he might grow up to look just like his Daddy.
