So, our little guy had his first check-up with a specialist today...and theres still 16 weeks before he's born!

Anyway, its been noted that occasionally he has a skipped heart-beat and today they did an ultrasound and stress test just to see whats up.  It turns out he does have a very mild 'premature beat' issue, which basically means one of the four chambers of his heart is out of sync.  It doesn't happen very often though and the doctor assured us it will most likely go away once he is born.

But, thankfully, they are very thorough about these things here so we have a Fetal Echo scheduled in a couple of weeks and will have more information then.  In the meantime...the technician said that apart from that, hes perfect.  But we knew that already!

So it turns out this baby definately takes after his Dad already.  When we had our 20 week ultrasound the technician had a hard time getting him to wake up, he was far too comfortable with his legs resting up over his head.  They had suggested Alana drink orange juice before we went but this obviously didn't work, he snoozed through the entire thing.  We were lucky to get any pictures at all!

Anyway, the last few weeks we have been trying to eat healthier and Matt is back cycling home from work everyday.  Part of this new routine has been to have a healthy fruit smoothie with honey and yoghurt every morning.  Well guess who else loves them too!!  Yep, while normally hes a pretty quiet baby, kicking only on occasion and usually at 3am, gulping back a smoothie has him performing back-flips in a matter of minutes.  We can even feel it from the outside when he does this.  He likes to kick Matts hand when he pokes Alana's belly as if to say 'thanks for the sugar fix Dad!'.
