JOURNAL Nothing new to reportposted on 01/27/2008 Nothing really new to report!!! We have not heard from Agency as to whether or not we have been registered!!!! Info coming from them is slim to none at this point. I have talked with a few other families that seem to be having problems getting answers from then too!!! As of right now I don't know if anyone really knows whats going on with CNA, and I think everyone is playing it by ear. But it would be nice to know.... ya know??? Our Agency hasn't given to much imput on any of this, their families really don't know what is going on, I think it is VERY important for them to keep us in the loop!!! But sadly enough they don't!!! The info I have gotten about PGN is only because we called PGN and talked to Laura.... Just wondering if we had been submitted and NEVER notified.... Sure enough, we was!!! and NEVER told.... Isn't this something we pay them to keep us up to date on???? I mean legally it is OUR case!!!! Right??? We paid this Agency alot of money to keep us up to date on ALL things in our case!!! And thus far we are in the dark more than anything!!! No new medical since Nov, we have only received 1 set of pics since Zack's referral and lets really not get into legal updates!!!! I think the last actual real legal update was Oct... and it was 1 line. I mean we deserve respect too!!! Not to be just thrown off to the side and told nothing!!!! Do they not think we are STRESSED and WORRIED about OUR children???? Are we not more than just a number on a case file??? Do we not have feelings?? cares??? worries??? We are told that the People in Guatemala have their own time schedule, that sadly isn't like the US????.... They don't have the sense of urgency that we do here in the US????... This is what our Agency told us!!!! This is something very comforting in knowing now!!!! With the monies paid to them by US PAP's you would think they would have a better sense of urgency!!!! Since we have started this adoption for Zack, I have talked to many people in the Guatemalan Adoption circle... and most people involved in adoption don't feel this way!!! When they say something will be done it is!!! Not weeks, months later!!! But usually in a timely manner!!!! They say that Guatemala adoption needed reform, well I couldn't agree more!!! Then at least we would know where we as PAP's stand in our process!!! and not be kept in the dark from US Agencies!!!! It is very hard to go through this process not knowing, wondering from day to day and sick because you know nothing about your child you are adopting!!! When an Agency tells you that you WILL receive updates, and they never come!!!! and makes excuses why they never come, it takes its toll on you being lied to. And this is just UNEXCUSABLE!!!! It is so hard talking to other freinds going through their adoption and seeing there NEW pics every month and knowing how their children are growing and doing so well as they receive new medicals every month. And knowing your Agency isn't up to par!!!!! I mean you can only ask so many times until you realize, your questions are being blown off, your answers are vague.... and your stuck in this situation until your child comes home!!!! There are things that can be done when your child comes home, sure!!! But nothing at this point in time. If we was rich, and by no means are we.... I would pack up and move to Guatemala and care for Zack myself.... we have thought about this time and time again!!! but it is not a do-able thing for us right now.... As you can tell this is a bad day for me!!!! No answers on or for our case has gotten to me!!!! I'm so mad I could scream!!!! Comments (0) YAYYY!!!!!! posted on 01/18/2008 OK here is the low down on what is going on with Zack: 1. They are taking him to a specialist just to be sure nothing is wrong, the Dr. says he is normal and healthy and doing well. 2. We are waiting on the new Central Authority to be up and running so cases can register, so they can move forward and bring these babies home. 3. We entered PGN on 12/20!!!!!!!!!!!! YAYYYY!!!! we did beat the deadline!!!! As per Laura @ PGN 4. We didn't get PA until 12/22 5. We got a KO (previo) for no PA on 1/08 per Laura @ PGN 6. We are back to waiting... but hopefully not for long.. the new CA has handed out the registation forms today to be filled out for all cases. After they are filed with CA it will take a week to get an approval(basically a peice of paper stating we can now enter back into PGN) I hope these start being taken Monday 21st. and then we should be back in no later than the end of the month.. YAYYYYY!!!!! 7. Cases right now seem to be running about 8 weeks w/no KO's. If you receive a KO it is back to square one in PGN and your time starts all over again. ughhhh!!!! So when we go back in we start our 8 wks all over!!!! 8. Once out of PGN, you have to get the final Bmom signature, then off to get the new BC. GCBC's are taking about 7 days to come back. Then off to get new passport usually 1 day. Next they submitt you back to USE for your 2nd DNA, this is called ORANGE (test takes about 7-10 days to get results to USE) after this you wait for your E-PINK via email... Appointments look to be 2-3 weeks out from that... But things maybe a little different by the time Zack gets out!!!! 9. So to take a wild guess here we MAYBE looking at about the beginning of May before Zack comes home.... And if its sooner YAYYY!!! if not then we will be ready for that.... I hope this is as good of news to you as it was to us!!!!!! Keep us and other families in process in your thoughts and prayers!!!!! Comments (1) iT'S BEEN A WHILE..... posted on 01/07/2008 I know it's been a while since we wrote on here, we have been having such a hard time with our case.... It's VERY draining and VERY emotional.... There are days I feel like I just can't go on... and i just want to throw the towel in BUT I can't!!! I have to fight to get our SON home!!! I will do what ever it takes to get him here.... As all of you know they requested a test on Zack the beginning of Dec and it took us over 3 weeks to get any answers as to why the test needed to be done. Zack is anemic and his formula has been changed and he is now on vitamins. He was also removed from foster care and placed in a small orphanage outside of the city. A few days right before x-mas we received another letter stating he needed another test genetic/nuerological. And could we pay for this? Well how do you say NO to his sweet little face .... since this point we have not heard another word from agency in reguards to zack's health concerns.... Was the money really for the test or what??? we don't know... I have had all I can take from this Agency. We are trying to get help for our case. And trying to find out what is going on with our son... It isnt the easiest thing to do since he is so far away... and we do NOT speak spanish or have no-one we know speak spanish. We demanded answers from Sally I was asked to call Guatemala myself and talk to Aby and the doctor. UMMM isnt that what we paid the Agency to do!!!!! I think this Agency leaves alot to be desired!!!! I have noticed on there web page that our Case Manager is now working on Russian adoptions... And Guat program is on hold... so this may be why we are getting NO answers to our questions... But we signed a contract, paid our fee's and now we want the service we paid for!!!!! After we received our PA from US Embassy after 72 LONG days... They had plenty of time to get us in PGN before Dec 31st but didnt now we sit in limbo once again... As PGN is not taking anymore NEW cases until they have been registered with the Central Authority which dont exist.... They say it will be up by Jan 15th but that still remains to be seen... I feel like all I do anymore is complain.... complain about how we cant seem to get our son home, complain about how the US Gov. is holding us back, complain about our Agency.... Is this what this process does to people.????? I'm ready to get off this roller coaster!!!!... I keep forgetting things at work, I can't concetrate on anything but Zack.... And what is happening to him, is he getting good care, is he OK???? We sit and wait for answers that may never come!!!! Steve did take video to the doctors office today and he looked at it and said THIS baby DON'T have CP.... He just seems to be slightly delayed!!! May be due to him being anemic. But from what I see on video I really see nothing majorly wrong with him.... No major concerns... nothing that can't be worked on when he comes home!!!!
Comments (1) 72 DAYS LATER AND WE HAVE...... posted on 12/22/2007 PA!!!!!!!!!! WE COULDNT BE MORE ON TOP OF THE WORLD !!!!!! AND JUST BEFORE X-MAS!!!! WHAT A WONDERFUL X-MAS AND B-DAY PRESENT!!!!! Comments (4) JUST A BAD MONTH!!!! posted on 12/19/2007 Well this month really didnt go as we had hoped!!!! We really thought we would have our PA (pre approval) and already be in PGN.... But that NEVER happened thanks to the US Embassy!!!! They went from issuing them in as little as 1 week a few months ago to now some people being way over the 60 days.... Us being one of those families!!!! We are on day 69 today. We do have a few people checking into this for us. Senator Kit Bonds office, Senator McCaskill's office, Congressman Lacy's office and our very own DOS(department of state) We have received a few calls so far this week and the one today really upset me, The lady said that she contacted USE on our behalf and they told her "WE HAVE NOT RECEIVED ANY EMAILS FROM THIS FAMILY" This is such a LIE!!!!! We email everyday if not 2x's a day!!!! and always keep the emails we send and the auto replys we get back. That should prove something!!!! That the USE is lying!!!!! Someone needs to intervene here, Our own US goverment is hindering their OWN citizens!!!! And I for one just dont understand this!!!! It has been stated that Guatemala is trying to freeze adoption till after the new yr. This is due largely to stop people from flying down to sign a POA(power of attorney) in hopes they will get grandfathered in. The USE is now stopping all DNA auth as of Dec 31st. Until further notice. And the PA's have not been coming out in over a week!!! As far as Zackary is concerned, we have heard NOTHING on this test or even what it is for!!!!!! They wont tell us nothing!!!! And I'm about to lose my mind literally!!!! and I'm not paying anything for this test that they dont want to tell us about. This is OUR son we are talking about and I want answers!!!! But we find Nothing from anyone. We have contacted Sally and Aby for answers, nothing!!!! So Steve went to the head director Sergey to find out something..... well guess what still nothing!!!!! I don't understand why Aby just wont tell us what is going on with Zackary.... It's like we dont exist!!!! We have taked about hiring Adoption Supervisors and have emailed them them, I really want to talk to Rudy Rivera.... He is suppose to be really good!!!! and is here in St. Louis!!!! I really think if we are going to get Zack home anytime soon this is our best chance. Yes it is alot of money but worth every penny to get Zackary home before he goes to college!!! grrrr!!!! I feel this Agency has let us down!!! They promised support and updates.... hmmm what are updates???? where is the support??? Like Steve said in an email to Sally " I sure hope other families are not having to go through what we are, as this is unbearable, the process is hard enough without the added stress of worrying about Zackary's health too" I guess they think if they dont say anything all will go away???? be swept under the carpet??? Well we are NOT going away!!!!! And we want answers!!!! Comments (0) Thanks!!!! posted on 12/15/2007 I just wanted to say THANK YOU to everyone that is supporting us right now!!!!!! It means so much to us! This is such a hard time, with now knowing what is going on with Zackary. And if he is really in good care this time and being taken care of the right way!!!! Please keep Zackary in your prayers!!!! that all is well! Comments (0) Not so good news!!!!! posted on 12/08/2007 First off let me say we are so confused and upset, When we arrived home Tuesday afternoon we found an email from our Coordinator that she had sent on Monday. She was sorry she couldn't be there for drop off or pick up of Zackary. than she proceeded to tell us the doctor wanted to do some test on Zackary but failed to say what kind or what for. I emailed our Agency with some concerns we found while visiting Zackary this past week. When Zack was brought to us at the hotel, he was dirty and smelled of sweat. We got him up to the room and he had dirt in his ears, behind his ears and around his ankles. It was the saddest thing, I was so mad and upset!!! The FM gets paid monthly to care for our son and we find him like this!!!! it was unacceptable, then she tells us to mix the formula 1 scoop to 2 oz of water. It didn't look right to us. So we asked a few other families that we had been talking to, it is suppose to be 1 to 1oz!!!! She has been diluting his formula as well. I posted this question on one of the boards I go on to verify this and we was right!!!! What is wrong with this woman???? This is a BABY we are talking about here, OUR baby!!!! I emailed our concerns to Sally and she forwarded them to Aby in Guatemala, it took less that 3 hrs to get a response back!!! here is it below!!!"This is really bad if they found him dirty. We will change him right now. We have moved the most of children to the orphanage because we have found them bad care and she has requested us no move him but now I am completely sure we have to do this! The tests will be done on Monday." So now Zackary has been removed from this woman's care, thank god!!!! and moved to their orphanage (Hogar) I have been reassured he will be very well taken care of there!!! At this time he is not sitting alone, and if sitting with asst. he can not balance his head, he is not focusing on things very well, and not gaining alot of weight still so so small... he is almost 6 months old and is still wearing 0-3 month clothes and weighs about 10-11lbs. he does have a flat spot on his head where he seems to lay on his back alot. All of this just makes me sick to my stomache!!!!! If you knew how upset I was at this woman.... well anyone that knows me will know!!!! I have NO tolerance for neglecting babies or children in general. I do have to say YAYYY!!!! for our Agency!!! Sally stepped right up and point blank asked Aby " IS THIS BABY BEING NEGLECTED!!!! I am glad they wasted no time in moving him. Rosita Zet is suppose to be a very nice and caring lady that opened the orphange with her own money and works in the community with others. The Hogar is called Bethlehem Home its in Coban. Here is a little about her and the Hogar Rosita Zet struggled all her life as a single parent to make ends meet and successfully raise her family. Once her children were grown, she sought a place to build her dream house. Rosita found a small patch of land outside of Coban where she started building her home. It was soon after construction started that she began to learn of the abject poverty of her neighbors. Rosita knew she could not live in luxury while her neighbors struggled for the bare necessities. Rosita decided to abandon her dream of building a new home, and, instead, gave the building to the community. It was the beginning of Rosa de Amor. Each weekend, Rosita would run a soup kitchen from her house providing balanced meals that the children lacked during the week. Next, she financed a makeshift school in her house. Rosita would return to Guatemala City during the week to earn money to finance the school, and return on weekends to help run the soup kitchen. She now is trying to build a school building in what would have been her backyard. Learn more about Rosita's story and her dedication to her neighbors We won't know anything about the test until next week sometime, as we still dont know what it is even for!!!! Please say a prayer for Zackary to be safe and well cared for. Until we can get him home!!!! OH yeah by the way still NO PA!!!! We are on day 59 as of Sunday!!! But right now that is the least of our worries. Comments (3) We're back posted on 12/04/2007 We're back and had the best time with Zackary!!!!! He was just a little ANGEL!!!! We couldn't ask for a better baby, he is sweet, cuddly and just amazing to spend time with and get to see his personality come out. We got there Thurs at 12:30 and got to the hotel at about 1ish, they brought Zack at 2pm... He was all smiles and laughs!!!! All I can say is he is "A WONDERFUL AND AMAZING!!!!" and we LOVE him so much... He is still very small for his age, and not yet sitting on his own. His head is still kinda wobbly LOL We met 2 other Mommies while we was there.... Susan w/Luis and Tamara w/Dominic OH MY they are just the cutest!!!!! We also met Susan's Mom and Tamara's sister (they all are just sweetest people) HI guys!!!!!! We met alot of other families while we was there too!!!! some visiting and some one pick-ups... Talking to other families is such a relief as they know how you feel and what your going through.... and for meeting them I feel blessed!!! One of the families told me we should really contact our Congressman and Senators at this point for our PA as we still do not have it!!!! can you beleive this ! ! !??? We are on day 54 today.... I really can't stand anymore of this crap!!!! I emailed USE the day before we left and got the same response "WAIT YOUR 60 DAYS" when I got back I looked at the forums and found they are issuing results from 10/25. This is way past ours, as our was 10/11... what is wrong with thses people!!!!!! So I came home and started the emails to Senators and Congressmen.. I hope to hear something back from them soon!!!! If we dont fight for our babies there is no-one who will!!!! and we really want Zackary HOME!!!! where he belongs I'll write more when and if we hear something about PA!!!!! Comments (2) |
