JOURNAL There is so much going onposted on 05/14/2008 I dont even know where to start, As most of you know when we accepted Zack referral we was told he was a normal, healthy little boy. Now almost 11 months later we find out he has Hypoplasia Optic Nerve Damage and maybe more. And was born this way BUT ALL his medical reports are stating he is normal, healthy and neurologically on target for his age. This is the furthest from the the truth... Zack is VERY small for 11 months, he barely weighs 10lbs and is the size of a 3 month old and is wearing 0-3 months clothes, as you can tell we had put some 3-6 month clothes on him and they was to big LOL He is developmentally only at 3 months of age right now with what he is capable of doing at this point. I have talked to a friend I have met through this adoption of Zack and she is a Physical Therapist that is willing to help us with Zack, with questions we have and help us get the right people for him when he comes home. (Thanks Julie, you really dont know how much you eased my mind today!!!) Julie had asked to see pictured of Zack to see if she could see anything, She gave me so much hope for this little guy!!! She thinks with much work Zack can over come alot of his problems. He will always be vision impaired, but he is capable of learning alot more!!! The Agency has no answers for why we was lied to about our sons medical issues. Why the Dr or Rosita has falsified the reports to say he was normal and healthy to submit him to PGN. They don't see where they are liable for any of this!!! I feel they think this is a broken car NOT a child they are dealing with!! Here is the email we came home to Monday night: I just wanted to give everyone a heads-up about the Bethlehem Home. Today I received word from Aby that their economic crisis is now overwhelming. They may have to close the home and no one is sure where the babies may go.
I have proposed that families offer the $250 monthly for foster care which is the fair going rate in Guatemala. Also that all children may go to foster care, unless specifically requested not to by their adoptive parents.
Apparently the electricity is being cut off, and internet for Aby. Sergey and Aby will be speaking by phone.
As I said, this is a real situation and I believe it is essential for the welfare of all of the children that we adopt a helpful and supportive attitude as we have in the past.
I will keep you all posted and I am so sorry for the way that things seem to keep changing! We are doing our best just to face what reality is giving us. No one could have predicted that the Hague would cause such economic hardship due to the lack of revolving income from new families.
It is what it is, and for now we are trying to do what we can. I will let you know what the final decision is when I hear.
Nice welcome home email huh??? They did not even have the nerve to say this to us face to face in Guatemala. It had to come through an email!!!
I don't feel we should have to pay twice for the same service because they miss handled our funds!!! I don't want to and won't hand over any more money to these people. The care they are giving our son is on boarderline NEGLECT!!!! and I'm suppose to pay more for them to neglect him now??? I think these poeple are out of their minds!! Like a friend of mine said they asked once and families gave in, now they think they can keep doing it. It is NOT in our contract to pay foster fee's, this was included in our 1st in country fee. Why do these people think we are stupid and they think they can get away with this??????

Comments (3) 6 more days and counting posted on 05/02/2008 I went tonight and bought Zack some more clothes, wipes, sleepers and stuff.... I had to buy a bigger suitcase as all the stuff wouldnt fit in his other one. We are trying to take enough stuff to last him until we can get back down to him... hopefully that will be soon!!!! Marco said PGN is still working, slowly but WORKING!! This is great news for all of us stuck in there right now. They are expecting cases to move quicker after everything is sorted out and we should start seeing cases coming OUT next week!!! Comments (1) Try to clear somethings up posted on 04/29/2008 We are flying out 5/9 and arriving at 11:15am and will be staying till Monday. The medicals we need is not the regular medicals... We are waiting for certified copies from the Eye Dr., Geneticist and his regular Dr. so we can try to get his case expedited.... But with all the PGN drama this may not be possible... And the Agency/people in Guat NOT willing to get these for us as promised in a timely manner... As you all know we asked for these on 4/7 and still NOTHING!!! But that really don't shock me anymore. Marco with AS is trying to help us get a Dr appointment when we go down. Still waiting to see if this is going to be possible. Steve and I have also been giving some serious thought to me moving down there after Zack's case exits PGN and we get final sign off from BM until we can come home as a family... Someone needs to be there to take care of our peanut!! With Marco's help we are hoping NOT to have to wait the 6/8 weeks!!! He has stated that it should take NO longer than 4/5. Comments (1) There is HOPE yet... posted on 04/25/2008 I just got an email from Sally, she says that Aby has told her " that she will have the medicals ready when we arrive on May 9th!!!" Now lets PRAY she follows through with this!!!!! We may have Zack home sooner that we thought!!!! Marco is going to try to help us take Zack to the Dr while we are there, so this is making me feel alot better... I hope we have enough time to get him in!!! I'll post more as I hear it...
