OUR LIFE AFTER THE STORM

JOURNAL

Not so good news!!!!!
posted on 12/08/2007

First off let me say we are so confused and upset, When we arrived home Tuesday afternoon we found an email from our Coordinator that she had sent on Monday. She was sorry she couldn't be there for drop off or pick up of Zackary. than she proceeded to tell us the doctor wanted to do some test on Zackary but failed to say what kind or what for. I emailed our Agency with some concerns we found while visiting Zackary this past week.

When Zack was brought to us at the hotel, he was dirty and smelled of sweat. We got him up to the room and he had dirt in his ears, behind his ears and around his ankles. It was the saddest thing, I was so mad and upset!!! The FM gets paid monthly to care for our son and we find him like this!!!! it was unacceptable, then she tells us to mix the formula 1 scoop to 2 oz of water. It didn't look right to us. So we asked a few other families that we had been talking to, it is suppose to be 1 to 1oz!!!! She has been diluting his formula as well. I posted this question on one of the boards I go on to verify this and we was right!!!! What is wrong with this woman???? This is a BABY we are talking about here, OUR baby!!!!

I emailed our concerns to Sally and she forwarded them to Aby in Guatemala, it took less that 3 hrs to get a response back!!! here is it below!!!
"This is really bad if they found him dirty.  We will change him right now.  We have moved the most of children to the orphanage because we have found them bad care and she has requested us no move him but now I am completely sure we have to do this!
The tests will be done on Monday."
So now Zackary has been removed from this woman's care, thank god!!!! and moved to their orphanage (Hogar) I have been reassured he will be very well taken care of there!!! At this time he is not sitting alone, and if sitting with asst. he can not balance his head, he is not focusing on things very well, and not gaining alot of weight still so so small... he is almost 6 months old and is still wearing 0-3 month clothes and weighs about 10-11lbs. he does have a flat spot on his head where he seems to lay on his back alot.
All of this just makes me sick to my stomache!!!!! If you knew how upset I was at this woman.... well anyone that knows me will know!!!! I have NO tolerance for neglecting babies or children in general.
I do have to say YAYYY!!!! for our Agency!!! Sally stepped right up and point blank asked Aby " IS THIS BABY BEING NEGLECTED!!!! I am glad they wasted no time in moving him. Rosita Zet is suppose to be a very nice and caring lady that opened the orphange with her own money and works in the community with others. The Hogar is called Bethlehem Home its in Coban.
Here is a little about her and the Hogar
Rosita Zet struggled all her life as a single parent to make ends meet and successfully raise her family. Once her children were grown, she sought a place to build her dream house.

Rosita found a small patch of land outside of Coban where she started building her home. It was soon after construction started that she began to learn of the abject poverty of her neighbors. Rosita knew she could not live in luxury while her neighbors struggled for the bare necessities.

Rosita decided to abandon her dream of building a new home, and, instead, gave the building to the community. It was the beginning of Rosa de Amor.

Each weekend, Rosita would run a soup kitchen from her house providing balanced meals that the children lacked during the week. Next, she financed a makeshift school in her house. Rosita would return to Guatemala City during the week to earn money to finance the school, and return on weekends to help run the soup kitchen.

She now is trying to build a school building in what would have been her backyard. Learn more about Rosita's story and her dedication to her neighbors

We won't know anything about the test until next week sometime, as we still dont know what it is even for!!!!

Please say a prayer for Zackary to be safe and well cared for. Until we can get him home!!!!

OH yeah by the way still NO PA!!!! We are on day 59 as of Sunday!!! But right now that is the least of our worries.

Wow. You guys have really been through a lot with this little guy. I will put him and your family on my prayer list. He is a cutie and I hope the move to the hogar will help him start growing and developing!

Thanks for the password. Love your blog!! Your boy is precious.
I will lift Zach up in prayer, that all is well with his test.
Also a prayer for that darn PA.
I've heard of so many Saturday PA's, maybe today can be your day.
