JOURNAL A new songposted on 02/25/2009 Meredith made up a song for us, and now sings it often (probably because of all the applause and praise she gets): "Mommy, Daddy, I love you." She actually sings a tune, and it has a distinct rhythm. It melts our hearts! Also, we're getting so good at the "Sweet Meredith" song, I think we're ready to hit the road. She does the "bum bum bums" at all the right times and also sings the last word of every line: Mommy: Sweet Meredith Meredith: Bum Bum Bum! Mommy: You are Mommy's precious angel Meredith: Angel! Mommy: I love you so . . . Meredith: Bum Bum Bum! Mommy: And I'm never ever gonna Meredith: Gonna (at the same time) Mommy: Let you go Meredith: Go (at the same time) Comments (0) Weekend Update posted on 02/22/2009 Friday was "dress up like your Mommy or Daddy" day at school - see the new picture posted. We had fun going out to eat at Blue Moon pizza with Collin and his mom on Friday. Meredith ate a whole piece of pizza (not cut up) by herself! On Saturday we played with Amelia and then went out to eat. The weather has been beautiful, but cold! On Sunday we had our last music class. Meredith got really into it today, sitting in Miss Amy's lap and singing her "quack quack quacks" and volunteering for different activities. She was very good in church when they brought her down from the nursery - I think she's getting the hang of things. We went outside to take Bitty Baby on a walk this afternoon, and Meredith was bundled up in leggings, a coat, a hat, and mittens. We got halfway down the street and Meredith said, "Bitty Baby cold!" "Sweater!" Indeed, Bitty Baby was not dressed at all warmly, so we made the decision to go back inside lest she catch cold. Meredith did a good job recognizing the diamond shape. -Mrs. Moore Comments (0) Trip to the Dentist posted on 02/10/2009 Ben took Meredith to the dentist today! Meredith did pretty well . . . she has been practicing opening her mouth and saying "ah." She didn't like having to lean back so that the dentist could look at her teeth, but she does really like her new toothbrush. Meredith has lots of teeth, they are well spaced, and her 2-year molars are coming in (will probably take about a month, but that's probably why she's been chewing on stuff lately). Good job, Meredith! Comments (0) Bitty Baby's Puppy Kisses posted on 02/08/2009 Meredith got to spend a lot of time outside with her friends this weekend! They all had a big time. Meredith brought her bitty baby and stroller outside, and she wasn't really wanting to share with Keira. She did let Keira give her baby a hug, though. We saw our neighbor out walking 2 small dogs across the street, and Keira and Meredith were delighted to walk over and see them. Meredith decided that she needed to go back across the street, push her stroller across the street, and take bitty baby out to that the baby could get kisses from the doggies as well. Comments (1) Big Girl Pants posted on 02/06/2009 Meredith picked out her own outfit this morning (she didn't want pants, she picked out a "pretty dress" instead) and insisted on wearing pulls ups instead of a diaper. Apparently she showed everyone at school her "big girl pants." She tinkled twice at school (although she also had accidents), and last night she went poopy in the potty again. She was very proud of being a big girl. Comments (0) Cold Outside posted on 02/05/2009 This morning at breakfast, Meredith pointed to the clock that hangs in the kitchen, and said, "Clock! 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11." When Ben took Meredith to school this morning, as they got out of the car she said, "Cold Outside!" When they closed the door to school, she said "Bye Bye Cold."
