My First Christmas!

I had a great 1st Christmas. I had so many celebrations that my mommy and daddy had to go out a buy a chest to keep all my new toys in! That is how many I got. My Christmas started out with my Poppop coming over on Sunday night. Then Monday night my Gam and Papa came over to celebrate Christmas. Santa came the next morning and left me some toys. I LOVE the car keys he gave me! Then my Gramma and Uncle Jonathan came over and had Christmas. Then I took a nap!!! When I woke up I ate and then we went to my Great Grandparents' house for Christmas! It didn't stop there. My Great Auntie Al came to Georgia to visit and we had Christmas with her last Saturday! WHEW!!! We are all tired and exhausted BUT I have TONS of new toys and new clothes! I can't wait until next Christmas!!

Meeting Santa

Today I met Santa. He was really nice. I didn't cry when I met him either. I even sat on his lap and had a picture made! Since I was so good my mommy and daddy then took me to Gymboree and bought me some bows for my hair and a new dress!

My first Thanksgiving

Yesterday I went to my Great Granddad's and Great Grandmom's house to celebrate Thanksgiving. I was not a happy camper. I am in a stage right now where I only really like my mommy and daddy. I cried everytime someone else tried to hold me or talk to me. I even started crying if someone just looked at me. I tried some mashed potatoes and threw them up immediately. Today Poppop, Poppop Harry, and my Great Aunt Cindy came over to my house for Thanksgiving. I was a little better since I was at home but I still prefered mommy and daddy. My mommy cooked lots of food that smelled yummy. I tried some mashed potato with no seasonings and I kept it down but kind of gagged from the texture. I am eating Gerber Puffs now and I love them! Once I learned how to eat them I really like them now. I have also been saying ma-ma for the last 3 days and each day I say it more.

Happy Birthday to me!

Today is my half birthday! I am 6 months old today! My Gramma gave me a pretty outfit to sleep in and a nursery rhyme cd player. It is very fun to play with. My favorite one is the monkey! My mommy and daddy are bringing me to Babies R Us today to get me a present. They haven't told me but I heard them talking about it last night. They think I don't know what they are saying!

BUT I do. I am soooo smart!

They are getting me a walker. So fun!!!

Sleeping

Well I am still waking up many times a night. I am not doing this because I am hungry or sad. I am doing this because I get frustrated. I learned to roll over last month and now I do it and can't roll back. I only sleep on my stomach and can't sleep on my back so when I wake up on my back... I am not able to go back to sleep. Last night I rolled to my side and slept there for about 3 hours but then woke up. My mommy is more frustrated than me because I at least get to sleep in the daytime. She doesn't. Pray for me to learn how to roll back over to my stomach and to sleep all through the night! Thank you!

My first Storytime at Barnes and Noble

I went to Storytime at Barnes and Noble for the first time today. My mommy met Miss Angel and Anna there. I wasn't into the stories as much as the older kids but I really enjoyed watching Anna be silly in front of me. We all sang the Wheels on the Bus and I had to join in so when they sang "the babies on the bus go waa, waa, waa.." I started crying. I had to help them sing the song!

It was funny! My mommy laughed. We then walked around the Avenues and had lunch at Panera. Yum Yum! I will get to taste that yummy food in my milk tomorrow! I missed my morning nap and had so much fun that I came home and slept from 2:15-4:50 p.m. I was tired but had so much fun! I am looking forward to going again next Wednesday!

Eating solid foods!

I am now eating a variety of foods. I have had peaches, applesauce, pears, bananas, prunes, carrots, sweet potatoes, green beans, and rice cereal. The only one that I don't like are peaches. I surprisingly like all the others. I am going to try sweet peas next. We'll see if I like those.(Mommy doesn't!)

"Meet Michayla" Party

We invited my kids from my first grade class this past year to a "Meet Michayla" Party at McDonald's. 8 kids from the class came and we had lots of fun. They got to see me and Chris and of course meet Michayla for the first time. The kids loved eating their happy meals and ice cream and most of all... playing in the play area together. You could tell that they missed seeing each other since school had ended in May. Michayla was great at McDonald's. She was passed around to all the moms and she loved it which surprised me since she normally doesn't like to be passed around. We had a wonderful time and I was sad when it was over. Hopefully we'll stay in touch since I won't be returning to teaching this fall to stay home with my precious Michayla.

Even though I know Michayla needs her mommy at home... I will miss teaching the kids at school. That was the best part of teaching... the kids!
