Today was another hectic day, I didnt shower til after lunch, but managed a doctors appointment and a shop on my own!! Olivia has been prescribed some medication for reflux, so hopefully that will help with the constant throwing up and crying. Hopefully she will be able to sleep a bit better too, due to less pain.
She so cute, today she projectile spewed and peed all over her daddy!!!!

Well the past few days have been hectic, from sleeping beautifully over the weekend, to knowing that Daddy has to go back to work and staying awake and screaming all night!!!
We went off to the Lactation Day clinic at Dandenong Hospital. It was a very emotional day as Olivia had loads of trouble attatching and when she did, she was just chomping on my nipple...very painful, hence loads of tears. By the end of the day, the midwife wrote up a plan of expressing and bottle feeding. By the time I got home and spoke with Adam, we decided that we would add formula every 3rd bottle as I dont seem to be getting enough milk. We also went to the doctors that night as Olivia had really bad nappy rash that wouldnt budge. We got some cream which has seemed to make it much better.
As for the feeding, well she is going ok with what we are doing, although she is throwing up a bit more often and not pooing as much.....something to talk about with the midwife today.
My mum is coming over next week during the day to help out, coz every time I speak with her I'm in tears. I think I must have thought it was so much more easier than this and am possibly struggling without a routine of any sort.
At least I can manage a shower every day!!!!

On Thursday Olivia had put on 70gms :) Shes sleeping a little better over night and her feeding is ok. We went for her ultrasound on her hips yesterday. Looks like she will have to go into a harness for a while. Just waiting for the appointment to see the orthopead doctor to see what we have to do.
Adam goes back to work next week, which is a bit daunting. I have been used to having him around all the time, even before Olivia was born, as we were renovating for 2 months. I think I'll be fine!!!!

The maternal health nurse came today to weigh Olivia and to see how feeding was going. Olivia has lost 30gms, which really upset me because all I seem to be doing is feeding her. So we have to top her up with expressed milk and see how that goes. The nurse will come again on Thursday for another weigh, lets hope it goes up this time.
I have also booked in to the Lactation day clinic to see if I can get her off the nipple sheild and attatching better.
We have found she is sleeping better if we put her with us for the early part of the night and then put her in her cot after that. She sleeps well listening to powder finger, foo fighters and bernard fanning, however did not sleep as well with pink floyed!!!! Tis a shame!

Olivia is not a good sleeper during the night. She screams and feeds and thats about it. We are both very tired, but so in love with our beautiful baby.
