toddler beds and dramatic play

Perhaps the biggest change is the muppets are now in toddler beds. Avery fell out of her crib a few nights ago, so we promptly made the transition to beds. I was a little nervous that they'd be climbing out of bed in the middle of the night and crying at their door, but the transition was as smooth as it could've been. The very first night was a little upsetting to Avery, so I rocked her for a bit to help her get to sleep. After putting her back into bed, she didn't make a peep the rest of the night. After the initial shock of it, both girls know to go lay down in the beds after their bedtime story. We heard them giggling for a few minutes, but they were asleep within ten.
The second night of toddler beds, I peeked in to find them both sleeping on Avery's bed. I wished I would've snapped a picture, but I was afraid to wake them and figured it wouldn't be the last night. Now, I'm going to be checking in on them, hoping to find them cuddling so I can snap a picture.
I've really noticed an interest in dramatic play the last few days.
They've been into their babies here or there before, but lately,
they're really into dressing up and caring for their babies. Grandma
and Grandpa bought them each a baby and baby carrier that works as a
backpack, cradle, or carrier. The girls both thought they were pretty
cool with their babies on their backs. Likewise, they prance around
rather proudly with their sunglasses. They like to alternate between
wearing them on their heads and on their faces. It's apparently up to
me to figure out which way to put them without upsetting the little
princesses.
I'll be going to visit friends in Indiana without the girls this weekend. It'll be the first time I'm away from them for more than one night. I know they'll be fine as they'll be with their grandma and grandpa, but I'm going to miss them loads.
