He's walking
posted on 06/02/2008

Well two days after Christmas and 1 week before he turned 1 year old, Andrew started to walk. You can see this is what he has wanted to do since the day he was born. Nothing makes him happier than going from room to room exploring his surroundings.

He is so much easier to look after now. No more whinging and crying. He is so happy and cheery all the time.

However now he doesn't like going down for naps because there is too much playing to be done. But i am going to try to persist that he has 2 naps a day apart from childcare days as he only has one there.

He is eating well but throws his vegies on the floor. He is starting to use a spoon and fork and thinks he is so clever when he gets food into his mouth.

I am at work 3 days a week now which is pretty good but I do miss my munchkin and can't wait to get home to see him.

He says "cheese", 'Mum' and 'Dad' (Or pretty close to it). Loves walking around in shoes and just loves shoes in general to play with.

Oh and he gives great hugs :)   He has now turned into a very affectionate little man much to my pleasure.

8 Months

We lowered Andy's cot down to the bottom level as we though he was near to pulling himself up. And as soon as I put him in there he pulled himslef from sitting to standing then started waving at me. It was very cool and I was so proud.
Yesterday I bought a suction bowl for Andy and filled it with lettuce, tomato, cheese and carrot grated and let him feed himself for the first time. And did he love it!!!! OMG he ate it all and I had to refill it. It kept him quiet for 30mins and he was such a good boy. I was so proud as he has just hated eating lately so maybe he just wanted to feed himself. And last night he only woke once for a quick feed then slep from 7pm - 7am so I am very happy with my boy today.

Nanna Walk taught him to kiss and to clap so he doing lots of cute stuff at the moment. STill not crawling though, but people tell me that is a good thing as they are a lot more work when they can move.

4 3/4 months

Andrew rolled over last night!!!  He did a complete 360 and nearly rolled right off the rug. David and I were both there to see it and we gave him a huge cheer (which scared him and then he cried!) Cry

He is growing up so fast.

4 1/2 months old

Well our baby is now 4.5 months old. The time has flown by. He has grown so much over that time and I am getting strong arms from carrying him around. He is a smidge under average on his measurements and isn't a chubby baby (unlike his Mum). People say he looks more and more like me now when at the start they said he was a dead ringer for Dave.

He sleeps right through the night from about 8pm to about 6.30am. What a champion!!

However the days aren't so good. He is certainly like his Mum in that he hates having nanna naps in the day because he thinks he will miss some action.

He is full of smiles and giggles and is just a pleasure of a baby. Don't get me wrong, he certainly has his moments of frustration and bouts of crying but they are gradually getting less and less.

40 weeks

Thank you everyone for your comments in the guestbook.

Well today I am due to give birth!!  Wow can't believe the time is here. No news to report yet though. No contractions or any changes. Hopefully not too long away and I really don't want to be induced either so everyone send me some labour vibes to get things started.

I had my midwife appointment last night and just as I thought I haven't dropped at all. Still floating around in there but said some people don't drop until in labour so she wasn't too concerned.
Blood pressure was higher though at 130/80 which was a bit of a worry. She told me to do a lot of crawling. :D
Next appointment is on Tuesday.

38 weeks 1 day

Christmas is nearly here!  Yippee.  Mum arrives from Tassie tomorrow and I am very excited to see her.

Belly is still growing as you can see in the picture. I wonder how big baby will be. Not too big I hope! Dr said it will be a bit bigger than average but not a big baby. Blood pressure last week was 100/70 so that's good. Still have swelling in ankles face and fingers. Looks terrible. Apart form that still feeling fine. More and more everyday I am looking forward to the baby coming and David gets paniked everytime I send him an sms thinking I am in labour  :)

Working from home is going really well and the money is definately needed. I don't know how people manage with one income. The house is looking  great and the Christmas lights and decorations are all up. Must start cooking for Christmas soon too. Maybe today if I finish work and washing the floors.
