37 weeks 1 day

Only 3 weeks to go now. I can't believe it. It still seems so unreal that we will have a baby in the house soon. Starting to get nervous about it all but then on occasion I get kinda excited too.

I have an appointment with the Dr today so I am hoping he says everything is ok. I've got some swelling in my ankles and fingers not helped but the 40 degree day yesterday. Thank god it is cooler today.

Today I am getting the baby capsule (a gift from Brent and Mel) fitted into the car. How bizzare will that be seeing a car seat in the car.

All the Christmas shopping is done now and I'm getting excited about Christmas. Feeling extremely well at the moment and not at all tired and uncomfortable like everyone says I should be feeling. But I guess there is still time left for that yet, especially if it is overdue.

5 weeks to go!!  I can't believe it. This is my last week in the office and I am so excited to be finishing up. It hurt's my bum to sit in the office chair all day. I'd rather be walking around to ease the pains in my pelvis.

The swelling is not so bad this week which is good news. I am feeling good but getting tired as the days pass by. I should rest more than I am but I have so much work to do at work and at home and for Christmas that I just can't find the time to rest. David is working hard to get the house done and is doing a great job but he needs a rest too. Just imagine how tired we will be after the baby arrives. Arrhhh...

My next appointment isn't for 2 weeks which seems a long time between visits but as I am feeling well I am not to worried. The more I stay out of hospital the better at this stage, they just stress me out!

34 weeks 2 days

I cleaned out the room for the nursery on the weekend ready to start cleaning and setting it up. Last night I recovered the toybox in white to match the room and it looks good for a beginner.

I am feeling well. Sleeping well too. No more heartburn and the only discomforts now are my aching pelvis and groin and a bit of puffiness now the weather is heating up. My rings are getting tighter. I'm up to 12.5kgs. Eek! But my belly keeps on growing so I hope it's all baby.

Not long to go now!

33 weeks 4 days

Last night we had our 33 week checkup. All is good. Blood pressure was 120/70 so gone up a bit which I thought it had as I don't feel dizzy much anymore. My measurements were perfect for my number of weeks so hopefully wont be a big baby and the heartbeat is string and the head is still down.

Also had a breastfeeding class afterwards which was very informative and now our last class is a Hypnobirthing one on Friday then we should be all set to go.

Only 2 weeks and 2 days left in the office before I start working form home. Yay! I am looking forward to the time to relax and get ready for Christmas and the nursery all set up and baby's things washed and ready to go.

The house is coming along. Attic ladder all painted so the nursrey can now be cleaned out ready to be set up. The fence pickets are being painted ready to go on (if the rain stops) and the skirtings still have to go on and a phone line line into my new home office (Mum's bedroom!)

Otherwsie both David and I are getting more and more excited about our baby's arrive everyday. We can't wait!

32 weeks 3 days

I had my Melbourne Baby Shower on Sunday and had a great afternoon full of food, family, friends and fun. What more could I want? I got some wonderful and generous gifts for the baby too. This baby feels well loved already from all the attention and kind hearts of family and friends.

I am travelling well. Just growing everyday and becoming more tired when I do the work around the house and general shopping. Baby is still moving heaps and gets the hiccups more too. I sang to it the other day and it like it I think because it stopped moving then when I stopped it started kicking again.

On Monday I bought a baby bucket and baby bath, new mattresses for the cradle, matteress protector and sheet set. I made up the cradle and put teddy to sleep in it to keep it warm for baby. It was much fun. I hung all all baby's clothes in the wardrobe and they look so cute. But I guess I should wash them all first. I really have no idea how all this works. I don't even know what blankest to put on the cradle or how I soak/wash the babies clothes. Thank God Mum will be here to help me learn all this!

31 weeks 2 days

Sorry I didn't take a picture this week. Slack I know but I got back from Hobart and had a whole house to clean. Though David had surprised my by having the reverse cycle system installed and tiling the kitchen splashback too. It's fantastic!!!

I had a fabulous time in Tassie despite the freezing weather and snow on the Mountain. Had a great time seeing family and friends again and had a very small and cosy baby shower and I got spoilt with gifts for the baby. Lots of gorgeous clothes. It will be better dressed than me (but that's not hard!).

On Sunday I have another baby shower for my Melbourne family and friends. So that should be a fun day too.

My pregnancy is going along well. Feeling very big now and baby is very strong in it's movements now. Having trouble coming up with names though and it's getting close to D day so we must knuckledown and do some brain-storming.

30 weeks 2 days

Last night we had our 30 week check-up. We got the results of the diabetes test and it was normal and the iron level check was great. On the upper end of the scale and plenty in the iron stores. She took my blood pressure and it was 112/64. She felt the baby's position. Great! The head is nicely down and she said it is very unlikely it would turn around now. The fundal measurement was 32 weeks so measureing a bit bigger at this stage. She listened to the heart beat and it was all fine. In summary she said that I was "ridiculously healthy!"  That made us both very happy to hear.

After that we had our last antenatal appointment where we learnt more about breastfeeding, wrapping baby, settling techniques, and folding a nappy as well as other bits and peices.

I have gained 9.5 kgs so far. Gee that seems like a lot but the midwife assured me that it was fine.
