Heartbreak
posted on 12/04/2009

I realized yesterday, when a friend came up to congratulate me, that I hadn't updated this web site with the newest news.

The ultrasound we had scheduled for 11/12 did not go well.  The baby no longer had a heartbeat.  I had to go in for a d & c on Friday the 13th.  Thirteen is not my lucky number...both times I've had to get stitches I had to get 13.

Anyway, all is well now...time has a way of healing things...we defintiely have heartaches from time-to-time, but we sent the fetal tissue off for testing, so we'll see if anything comes back from that.  If not, my doctor wants to run a full blood panel on me to see if anything's changed preventing us from having a baby.  This is our second miscarriage this year.

FB Craze!
posted on 04/14/2009

So, I feel like a teenager again!  I have succumbed to the hype of Facebook and the Twilight Series.  I knocked out the Twilight series books in a couple months...pathetic, really.

Nick says that I looked like a 12 year old curled up in our bed staying up late to read after putting the boys to bed.  It really isn't fair...I mean, we want to grow up so fast, and once we're grown up...as Will puts it...we want to grow down.

I think I've mentioned that before...when Will was looking at baby pictures, he'd say..."Mommy, when I grow down, I want to do that again."

It is nice to have some escapes!

Time Flies
posted on 03/24/2009

I can't believe it's already Spring!  Will just had Spring Break last week, and I just enrolled him in Kindergarden for the fall just a couple weeks ago.  Time is just flying by.  I finally posted some Disney photos I had on my phone from January!  With the warmer weather here, it's going to be harder to keep up since we'll be outside all the time!

In just a few short months, Sam will be 2 and Will will be 5...it's unbelievable how quickly they grow.

Cute Coincidence!
posted on 01/07/2009

As I've been going through pictures from the past couple years to start getting into scrapbooks...I came across the picture of Sam on the couch looking so small and not even taking up a full cushion.  Then I recalled having a similar picture of Will.  I didn't realize how similar until I looked it up.  They were wearing the exact same onesie and the pictures were taken 1 year and 1 month apart...weird!

St. Nick's Day
posted on 12/06/2008

Sam did not want to be on Santa's lap!

We did our tradition of taking the boys to see Santa on St. Nick's Day.  If the camera guy would have taken the picture as soon as we sat Sam on Santa's lap, he would have been fine.  But within moments, Sam did not like being on his lap one bit.  We coudn't get him to stop crying, and we weren't going to torture him like the little girl's family did behind us and force him to stay until we got a decent pic...I like the one we got...it shows his true emotion.

Afterwards, he gave Santa a high five and waved good bye sans tears, from the comfort of daddy's arms!

We went to Pasta House to eat after the tramatic event, and while we were waiting for our food, Will looked over to Sam and said out of the blue, "Sam, don't be mad, Santa's nice, not bad."

Will, of course, knows to be on Santa's nice list list and really enjoyed his time with Santa.  Although he did freeze up when Santa asked him what he wanted.  He looked over at me and said, "I don't know."  Santa asked him if he wanted trucks and trains...Will said yes.  He wanted to take his wish list he had made, but we couldn't find it.  Next year, I guess!

Pumpkin Picking
posted on 10/17/2008

Our neighbors planted pumpkins and told us we could help ourselves.  The boys were going to my mom's for the weekend and were going to carve pumpkins.  So we picked out some pumpkins to take along.  We even got a little pumpkin for Sam, that Will said that it was just Sam's size because it was the size of his head...and it was!

Growing Baby - Toddler!
posted on 09/28/2008

Sam turned 15 months yesterday, and I put him in his first 18-month shirt today!  His 12-month pants still fit him perfectly but it was so sad seeing him in an 18-month shirt that fit him just about right!  I had gotten out all of his 18-month clothes to get ready for the transition, but I didn't realize he'd be wearing them so soon!

I put him in a pair of 18 month Monster Truck pajamas that were Will's favorite, and they were still a little big, but not too much!

He's getting to be such a big boy.  At the Mother of Twins Sale, we got him some cute little tennis shoes and his fat feet fit in them right now.  He clunks around in them because he's not used to wearing regular shoes...it gives true meaning to Toddler.  He's always just "toddling" around right now.  Not sure where he's going or what he's doing until he find something along the way that interests him!!

Back to pre-school!
posted on 08/18/2008

Well today wasn't as sad as last year when I dropped Will off for his first day back to preschool.  I was sad for the other parents whose children were crying and clinging because they didn't want to go.  I guess I was sad because Will was so ready to go!  The morning couldn't have gone any better.  He woke up right at his new school wake up time, 7 o'clock, had breakfast, got dressed, and watched a show.  In the meantime, I fixed his lunch, got dressed, got Sam up and dressed and out the door we went.  The parking lot was filled to the brim with the parents dropping off their apprehensive little ones.  Will marched right to the front door and into his classroom...he was so quick I couldn't snap a picture in time before he was already to his cubby putting away his things!

Ms. Michelle asked if he'd be a helper.  One of the little boys, Garrett, was very sad and crying.  Will said he would help and go show him the toys.  Will gave me a kiss and a hug, said, bye, and off he went to enjoy another first day of school!

He was decked out in his new Batman shirt, backpack, lunch bag, and folder - he is all about Batman this year!  He also had his new Thomas light up shoes on!
