3rd Doctor's Visit -

I had my third check up.  It was pretty easy.  The nurse used the Doppler to see if we could hear the baby's heartbeat.  I tried to record it with my phone like I did when I was pregnant with Will, but she wasn't sure if we were going to be able to hear it or not, so as soon as she put it against my belly, we heard the heartbeat loud and clear but then the baby moved, and we couldn't find it again.  She said the heartbeat registered at 140 hb/m.

My next check up is the 29th.

Weight = 150  (I've gained a pound/month this first trimester which is textbook)

New Year's Day -

We went to see the Gardenland Express at the Botanical Gardens.  It was the last day, and we had heard such great things about it.  It was great.  Will loved it.  He's still talking about going and seeing the trains.  It is highly recommended.

New Year's!

We spent a quiet evening at home for New Year's.  Nick's parents came over and we had a nice little feast of a variety of food.  It was going to be a seafood feast, but because of my pregnancy cravings, the feast was diversified.

We got Will a bottle of Welch's Sparkling Grape Juice.  He took the first drink and said, "Mmm...soda!  He ended up drinking almost the whole bottle!

I got a bottle of Sutter Homes dealcoholized wine.  A merlot.  It wasn't too bad.  Not the same as the regular stuff, but helped to go through the motions!

Nick's parents left around 10:30 and Nick passed out around 10:45, so Nick and I were the only ones awake to ring in the New Year.  We did wake Nick up about 11:59!

The day after Christmas -

With the grandkids growing in numbers this next year.  My mom and I decided it would be nice to start a new tradition where we go to her house the day after Christmas, so her and Mike can spend more time with the grandkids than just at Grandma Stobie's.

So we headed down there, where Will got to open even more presents.  It got to the point that the next day, he wanted to open presents again!  We still had the dogs gifts to give to them, so he did that, but then the presents were over...until his birthday, or I guess Easter!

Christmas -

At 11:30 p.m. we left Nick's parent's house and went directly to midnight mass!  It was very nice and peaceful.  Will was very attentive and went to sleep as soon as we got home.  He awoke to find Santa had come and brought even more presents!

He saw the big present next to the tree and said, "I want to open that present."  I told him he had to wake up daddy first.  So he went in, through off the pillow from Daddy's head and the covers and said, "Daddy get up, open presents!"

So daddy awoke and we spent the morning opening presents and putting his new Thomas Round House Set together.  Our coffee table wasn't big enough, so we had to set it up on the floor and find out how big daddy needed to make a table for it.

Afterwards, we went to Grandma Stobie's for an early dinner and saw my mom's family there.  Where Will got to open even more presents!

Christmas Eve

We spent the day with Nick's family...his mom, dad, sister - Libby, and Grandpa Otto.  Will passed out after lunch, and Libby was too anxious to wait until he woke up.  So we opened all of our presents while he napped, and then once he woke up, all the attention was on him!  He enjoyed his Disney Cars cars and, of course, THOMAS the TANK ENGINE set!

Happy Birthday Grandma Ginger!!!

I know it seems early...almost 11 weeks in, but I know I felt the baby move.  It's definitely different the second time of being pregnant.  It's like a Mountain Dew Commercial...been there, done that.  It took me the longest time the first time to know if I felt the baby moving or not.  I was laying on the couch and felt a definite jolt in my mid-section that could be nothing else but the baby moving.  I missed that feeling.  It defintely eases your mind that everything is okay. I just can't wait until this darn cold goes away.  The doctor was useless.  I called first thing this morning at 9 a.m.  I didn't get a call back until 6 p.m. and it was the nurse.  She said the doctor said I had to check with my OB, which I had already done.  Basically I'm out of luck, just have to use the over-the-counter stuff to ease any symptoms.  I just want to be able to breathe and swallow without feeling like I'm swallowing razor blades.

ONE WEEK UNTIL CHRISTMAS!

Quoting Movies -

Okay, so Will has watched Toy Story one too many times!  We were playin' around the house and he was getting pretty riled up.  Then all of the sudden he was sitting in my lap and started poking me on the forehead and said, "YOU ARE A TOY!"  This came out plain as day, and Nick and I couldn't stop laughing at his mimick of Woody talking to Buzz Lightyear.  He hadn't even watched it that day.  It's amazing what they soak up and repeat!
