Spring Stroll
posted on 03/02/2008

Being such a pretty day (in the 70's) and knowing it was supposed to snow the next couple days, we dusted off Will's old jogging stroller and took a walk down to our riverfront.  The dogs joined us and we enjoyed a nice animal cracker picnic next to the river's edge.  Will collected 4 sticks which we had to bring back with us.  He also didn't want to leave.  I'd say, "Will are you ready to go?" and he'd say, "No, I'm stil looking at the water."

Once we began walking back he told me, "Mommy, I can't walk I'm too heavy!  My knees are frozen."  So I ended up pushing the stroller with Sam, and walking with Will on my shoulders for about a 1/2 mile...needless to say, mommy got her workout!

Sam Crawls!

The Joys of Motherhood - enjoying the firsts!

We had a Dr. Suess night at KinderCare, and when I went into the infant room to get Sam, he was sitting on the mat.  He turned and crawled to me for the first time.  He's been scooting along, but he decided to do it for real and made my day.

That morning he did rasberries for the first time.  I was driving him into school and he was in the backseat entertaining himself by blowing rasberries.  He'd laugh at himself and then do it again!  It started off my morning with joy.

Will's First Blues Game
posted on 02/26/2008

It was Insurance Industry night at the Blues Game, so we got a really good deal on tickets.  We were 11 rows up from the ice behind the net.  We rode the Metrolink for Will's first time after we picked up Aunt Libby.  Will thought that was the coolest thing!  He kept saying, "Mommy, this is fun." and "Mommy, this train is going really fast!"  Once we got to the game, he thought it was pretty neat until the 2nd period.  I think the sugar high from the cotton candy he scarfed down - began to wear off!  Then he was ready to go home.  He kept asking if we could go.  He watched my ipod for the 2nd period and then I got him a Zamboni from the gift shop and that entertained him for the 3rd period.  We lost 3-1, but had a good time and made some good memories.  All the way home Will kept asking, "Now what is this called, again?" - referring to the Zamboni.  By the end of the night, he had the pronunciation down - after calling it a Zamberoni!  He said he wanted two because there were two on the ice smoothing it down...I said we'd have to see next time!

Happy Birthday, Gavin!
posted on 02/23/2008

Gavin's 1st Birthday party was at my mom's on the 23rd.  It's hard to believe he's already a year old.  Will and Sam had a good time.  Gavin enjoyed his cake...although he didn't like it all over his face!  Sam really enjoyed his spaghetti noodles.  The cutest was when Gavin gave Sam a hug when we were getting ready to leave.

Happy Birthday to our nephew, Gavin - cake face!<br />02.23.08 Gavin trying to hug Sam good-bye!

Willism

With all the school cancellations lately, Will has grown accustomed to the term "cancelled."  Nick had told him he could go by Grandma Barb's if he was good at school.  I was going by and picked him up earlier than she was going to be home, so when we drove by their road, Will asked me, "Is Grandma Barb's cancelled?"

I told him it was because she wasn't home yet!

First Time Away! Together
posted on 02/14/2008

Nick and I went down to San Antonio, TX for a business meeting for me and a getaway for Valentine's Day.  It was the first time we had been away, just the two of us since I was pregnant with Will, and we went to Orlando in February of 2004!

It was an overdue time away, but by the second day...we were already missing our boys.  Everytime we saw another toddler or baby, we just sighed and couldn't wait to get home.

Then our flight was delayed in San Antonio because of bad weather in Dallas.  So we missed taking Will to Monster Jam...we were very sad.  The best part was when Nick's dad picked us up at the airport - after Monster Jam - and Will was in the car, when I got in he said, "Mommy, where did you come from?"  "I missed you, give me smooches!"  It was good to be home.  Sam was just as happy to see me when I saw him the next morning!  He awoke and had an ear-to-ear grin when he saw me.

Santa was good to us

We had a wonderful Christmas!  Santa was good to us.  I hope to journal more, but I just wanted to make it known that it was great.  I just uploaded a hilarious video and some new photos.  I'm a little behind on updating, but hope to fill in the missing pieces in the coming days.

Not so Nice
posted on 12/10/2007

Well, my little angel is beginning to say not so nice things.  The problems of pre-school and kids being older than him.  Nick and I were shocked to hear these come out of his mouth.

Granted, I was half-heartedly telling Will I would "break his bottom" if he broke anything with this hook he was playing with...several ornaments have been broken lately.  He replied, "No Mommy, I'll break your face."  I couldn't believe this came out of my sweet little boy!

I can't remember what transpired for the other response. Him and Nick were discussing something, and then I heard him say, "No you're a poopy butt."  Again, shock, and then reprimand.

These words after earlier, when he broke a "Shop 'til you drop," ornament and I was sad, he said, "I'm sorry, don't worry mommy, I'll give you a kiss to make it all better."
