Ah, so Ryan turned 10 weeks yesterday (2 months and 9 days) and had his 2 month check-up yesterday afternoon - we had to postpone it because of a funeral...

I had a scheduled C-Section at 39 weeks (23 March) and he weighed 7 pounds 8 ounces (50th Percentile) and was 20 inches (60th %). Head circumference - 35 cm (25th %).

At 1 month he was 9 pounds 3 ounces (50th %) and 22 inches (75th %). Head circumference - 38.5 cm (75th %).

Now at 2 months, he is 11 pounds 7 ounces (50th %) and 23 1/2 inches (75th %). Head circumference - 41 cm (75th %).

Everything went very smoothly and the doctor remarked on some notable advancements on Ryan's part. His first time rolling from his tummy to his back was a week after he turned 1 month and apparently most babies do not roll at all yet. His 2 month sheet says that babies his age can hold their heads up briefly, but he has been able to hold his up completely for about a month now. His legs are very strong and when his doctor stood him up, all she had to do was balance him, because he could support himself. He has also been aggravating me with his non-stop bubble blowing for about a month now, and supposedly babies generally do not start blowing bubbles until they are at least 4 months old.. fantastic.. I think I could have waited on that one.

Other than that, he got 6 vaccines. One by mouth (for Rota virus) and 5 by shots (1 was a 3-in-1, so a total of 3 shots). He was just fine for the needles, but when it came time to put some gunk in his mouth, he was not happy.. Poor kiddo.

So the visit went well and he slept soundly when we got home. The only problem was that he woke us up at 4:30 this morning with a fever. We tried to give him the last of his infant Tylenol, but of course he blocked it at the last minute with his tongue and it spurted all over me. So Tommy went to Albertson's at 4:45 in the morning.. and it was closed.. grr.. He finally found a place that was open and got home around 5:30am, and by then both Ryan and I were asleep again.. 0.o But at least we had Tylenol.

So, everything has been going quite well so far. Little Ryan would love nothing more than to sleep through the night.. if only I would let him. Laughing

He is now 2 weeks old and has already had his first two well child visits to the doctor. He has gotten back to his birth weight, and then some, to be 8 pounds and 5 ounces. He has also grown 2 inches in the past two weeks and is 22 inches long. His next well child appointment is at his 2 month mark.

Unfortunately though, his circumcision is next Friday, and I am not looking forward to it. Frown Tommy said he would go inside with him, but there is no way I ever could. I am going to cry without going in, I know it.. Cry

In brighter news, he got to meet his Granny Dawn and Papa Roger last week.

And even luckier, his 'Aunty-M' and Uncle Matty from Canada came to visit him, too.

He is going to be a very spoiled little boy.

Oh, he also got his first bath at home, which he was not too pleased with, but it got better toward the end.

So, 8 1/2 months now.. sure is going fast.. only 5 weeks until the c-section. But, before we get to the pictures, I will fill everyone in on my last doctor visit. I got in trouble. Apparently I am not gaining nearly enough weight, despite the fact that the baby is in the 81st growth percentile. That means, baby is stealing everything he wants from me: my muscle and my fat. Sure, I could do without extra pockets of fat, but my doctor seems to think I cannot and told me I better be at least 2 pounds heavier next time I see her. It would appear I have only gained 4 pounds since I first started going there at the beginning of December, so she is a bit concerned. I can just imagine how upset she is going to be when I see her next Wednesday and she finds out that I have actually lost more weight.. Tommy said to stuff rocks in my pockets..

Other than that, we had a tour of the maternity ward at the hospital today. We also got the c-section procedures explained more in detail to us. I am going in at 6 in the morning to prepare for everything (Tommy has to wait outside for this), and then they put a catheter, an IV full of morphine and a spinal block in place. Tommy is going to be with me for the entire operation and they don't put you to sleep at all. After they staple me back together and bind my stomach, Tommy, the baby and I go to a recovery room for a few hours where some visitors can also accompany us. They will monitor both the baby and I very closely for the next few hours and then move us down a floor to our actual room, where Tommy also gets a bed to stay with us. There is cable and menus in the room, so Tommy won't die of boredom or starvation, lucky him. Well, we are also bringing our two Nintendo DS's. Oh, also, the baby will not be out of our site the entire time we are there, and I will be drugged on morphine for the next 18-24 hours and go home after 48 hours. So, lots of fun there. Now the pictures (both 34 weeks):

So we had a doctor's appointment today - another check-up, but we also got the results of the ultrasound we had just had. So, here's a surprise.. The doctor told us, "So the sex is confirmed, the baby is a boy, and from the looks of it, not a very small one at all." Imagine that..

So, both Tommy and I were assuming that because my stomach was so small now, that our baby would be.. but apparently he is in the 81st percentile as far as growth goes. Bigger than 81% of other 'babies' at this stage? How is that possible? Frown She also told us that if we went full term (instead of having the c-section earlier) that he would be an easy 8 or 9 pounds.. Then she showed me how big my stomach is suppose to get in the next two months.. and it is less than flattering..

And we thought we were getting lucky and he would be small.. oh well, at least he's healthy. Well, and we now know why he is always moving and pushing against my stomach.. must be pretty crowded in there, heh.. Oh, and everything else came out perfectly normal.

So today we are 29 weeks and 3 days. We had an hour long ultrasound today to check the anatomy of the baby.. since our last doctor's office lost our ultrasound report. Everything is going well and the baby wasn't shy in the least. :) He did like to move a lot though, seemingly right when the ultrasound tech had the best shot. But, what can you do?

Here are a few pictures from the ultrasound and a belly picture from last week (28 weeks). Also, our scanner decided it didn't want to work right now.. so I took the pictures with our digital camera.

Also, I posted the pictures from Christmas on my photobucket. Go check 'em out. Laughing

So the baby officially has a birthday: March 23, 2007.. too bad he doesn't have a name yet though.

After reviewing my medical paperwork from the Army, my doctor decided that a Cesarean would be a much better route after all. I have quite a few ripped tendons on the inside of my hips that would just get worse with a normal birth. Tommy and I are glad though; C-Sections seem so much easier, even though the recovery time is longer.

Other than that.. I get to go to physical therapy again for my hip issues and I will start drilling with my new unit in February.. at least until my medical discharge goes through. Tommy's mom and sister are coming up the day before the baby arrives for a bit, and my younger sister and her boyfriend will be here from Canada then as well.

I am almost 7 months and have finally gained a few pounds, and you can actually tell I am pregnant now. And apparently the baby is so active that my doctor has a very hard time getting an accuarte heart beat out of him.. and he messes up my sleep, too. -.- But, I guess that is what baby's do best, huh?

As for his name.. Tommy and my younger sister are hooked on Ryan Alexander Little.. I still have no idea.. Maybe he can just stay nameless...

So the move went fairly well.  A long drive, but we managed to leave about 10am on the 8th and arrived at our new house at about 8pm on the 9th.  Tommy drove the whole way and I have no idea how he did it.

Today I am 23 weeks pregnant; almost 6 months.Tommy took a few pictures a little while ago and I already uploaded them here.

We can feel the baby move more now, but I am also having pains in my stomach.  We had to go to an urgent care, too, because of anal bleeding on my part.. I guess I still have hemorrhoids.. stupid Army.  We managed to get a doctor's appointment as well.  It will be on the 12th at 3pm.  All we have to do is remember to go.  Laughing

Nothing else too spectacular has happened, besides finally getting the internet yesterday.  We are still trying to find jobs on this isolated peninsula and hoping we can fix our car soon.  I'll write more in a while.  Actually, maybe not until our next appointment.

Oh, we have finally come up with some names.  Vote on them.  Wink

Gosh, the time is really flying by. I had drill this past weekend, and it will be my last one at that unit. We are getting the moving truck today and packing everything into it. Then tomorrow.. well, we have a whole list of activites planned, including another baby doctor visit. After we exhaust ourselves and get new hairucts, we will come back and try to sleep. About 2 on Wednesday morning, we will leave Las Vegas as a home forever.. hopefully. We are hoping to get to Gig Harbor, Washington by Thursday afternoon. So two good days of driving should do it. I am just worried about squishing the puppy and kitty into the truck with us while we tow our car behind. Undecided

Everything should turn out just fine, and I can't wait to see the little demon spawn again. She likes to call us and tell us not to forget an ice chest, because it will be a very very very long drive, not a short one. Smile She can be such a dork, but it will be good to be around her again.

Well, I guess that's it for now. I have to finish up packing on my end to make things run smoother for now. I probabaly won't write again until we get to Washington and get everything set up. We still have to order our internet before we get there.. can't live without internet.. Laughing
