Welcome to Quetta's website! Here we are at 6 months old and growing and growing!

Some of her favorite things to do include eating bread, playing with her plastic fiddle, pulling a face up to hers for a big, open-mouthed, slobbery kiss, and "walking." She still most enjoys playing with the baby wipes package...

Spoon-feeding her my carefully prepared baby foods is out of the question. She clamps her mouth shut and turns her head, and has even learned to laugh with her mouth closed if I'm tickling her while holding a spoon. She only wants to eat things she can hold in her own hand, which of course means a big mess, but we figure it's all good for her, so we let her go.

Her first tooth broke through her gums the same day she turned 6 months old and she's got another one on the way that I can see as I write this only a week after that big event. She's tall and thin like her daddy, but too tall and too thin for most 6 month old baby clothes! And she still refuses to wear shoes, but I keep trying, which often leads me to backtrack all over Paris looking for a shoe she kicked off. So far so good, and we haven't lost any shoes, which is more than I can say for the sad fate of quite a few of her toys that we never did find once we noticed she had tossed them out of her stroller.

She's getting very good at playing alone for short stretches of time while I clean the apartment, do a little work, or have lunch. Manolo plays with her every night while I make dinner, although their games are much calmer than the ones I play with her. He helps her "walk" across the sofa, shows her how to do "marionettes" with her hands, or holds her and whistles different bird calls for her.

Having a baby around is a lot more fun than I ever thought it would be. She's so funny and sweet!

We can't wait to bring her to meet her Louisiana family and friends in December!
