My son the GENIUS!!!
posted on 07/10/2008

Yesterday Raleigh was having a snack and was holding them all in his hand. Then he starts putting them back on the table and says UN, TWOOOOOOO, TREE! Which as all of you know who speak Raleigh means 1,2,3!  Yep, That's right. At 21 months old my son is a genius. I told him how proud I was and that he deserved something for that and he said UH-HUH! (YES) He has been talking alot lately. Saying things like Sure, Shoes, I told you, Share, picking up the phone saying Hey and Bye, and Mamo when talking to his grandma's. (He has come up with that on his own.) He is also going up to the cats and kissing them and giving them hugs. He can actually pet them now without hurting them except for Outlaw who gets used as a BOUNCE N SPIN Pitbull. :) Bless his heart he is such a good dog.

So much has happened in the last few months. I finally got Raleigh's hair cut. I don't know if I will do it again. It was crooked and then I had to fix it. I always said no homemade clothes or haircuts.  He didn't help either. He hated the whole experience.

We have a very busy summer. We have stuff going on non-stop. Our 5th wedding anniversary is Saturday. I can't believe it. I think we might take Raleigh out again on the lake. He is a water baby.

Father's Day and Roy's birthday are coming up. We will be in Va for part of that weekend and then I don't know. I want to do something b/c we always do stuff for everyone else's b-days. He deserves something. Raleigh is going to have fun with some of Daddy's gifts! :)

Raleigh's accident
posted on 04/12/2008

Okay, I don't have a lot of time but I wanted to let everyone know that Raleigh was coming down the slide with his cousin and his foot got twisted and turned around. That was 4 o'clock Friday and he still isn't walking again. It's not broken but probably sprained so there's nothing we can do but wait. He's getting fussy b/c he wants to walk and he can't! He should be fine but I just wanted everyone to know and pray for his recovery. Will let you know when he is doing better!

On a not realted note, he now calls Outlaw - Pit Bull! :) It's soo cute!

Easter
posted on 03/27/2008

Okay so you all know that I backed out of Raleigh's 1st hair cut. I can't help it. I like his hair long so that's how it's staying.  That's the great thing about having your own children.  As the saying goes "I'm the Mommy that's why"!

Easter was lots of fun. He loved picking up all the eggs and putting them in the basket.  He loved flying the kite on the four wheeler. See he's quite lucky b/c the Easter Bunny came here and Grandma's. So he really racked up. He had lots of fun when Sarah Grace came over. (He has a future in wrestling!) Sarah Grace started crawling when she was here. Mostly to get away from Raleigh "The Rock" Pierce! :) He enjoyed playing with her and giving her kisses. He is so loving!

Sadly still no Easter bunny! Petco doesn't sell bunnies during easter, so maybe for his birthday! *DADDY*

Four-Wheeler
posted on 03/12/2008

We are taking Raleigh to get his first haircut this weekend. I found a cool kids hair cutting place in North Raleigh.  I am excited because one of the curses of having a beautiful baby is that they think he's a girl when his hair is long! :)

He got his first "four-wheeler" last weekend. He went to see his PAPA, (my dad) and he had a good time. We went on a long four-wheeler ride then he got his four-wheeler and he rode around the garage forever. He never seems to tire of it. He is getting a REAL one for his second birthday so Dad wanted him to get practice on how to ride himself.  Once it gets warmer we will ride outside but for now no one's feet are safe. (Including Outlaw's)

Our boat is fixed, so this summer I plan on spending every available second on the lake! Raleigh will hopefully learn to swim and we will get to spend lots of quality time together! Our weekends are already pretty packed but after all we've spent on that thing I should live on it. Our 5th wedding anniversary is coming up and instead of going to the beach we may stay home!

New Doctor's Visit!
posted on 02/13/2008

Raleigh had a Doctor's appt. today for his 15 month shots. (Yes, we are a month behind) We had a new doctor because ours has left his practice. She was very nice but Raleigh was happy to see his favorite nurse from our old doctor is now there. That made it a little easier. He weighed 25lbs. and was just over 32" tall. Everything went well except he has excema pretty bad so for the next week we will be treating that and hopefully it should get better in 5-7 days. (It's very itchy!)

He is now off of a bottle completely. It's only been a few days but we are getting there. He has only had one bottle everynight for a month and I think is finally ready to go off forever. He has been having troubles staying asleep without it but it's an adjustment. He is also now climbing on the couch. He knows how to back off except when he stands up, then he falls right off. He thinks the couch is for jumping not sitting! :) Let's pray he learns better before getting hurt. He is a pretty smart cookie so I think he'll get it!

Raleigh's new toys
posted on 01/09/2008

Now that Raleigh is feeling better he is really enjoying all his toys. He plays all day and now wants to stay up at night.  He loves all his trucks, bulldozers, front end loaders and cranes. He is a Tonka boy. He also loves his tonka & fire hat. We already need a new firemen's hat. This one couldn't withstand Raleigh.

This week was the first time he climbed out of the bath tub on his own. I wonder how long till the crib? That scares me! He has a very tall crib, so hopefully that won't happen before we go to a big boy bed. So much happens in this next year. Switching to a sippy cup from a bottle, (which he just won't do), Getting off a paci, potty training, going to a big boy bed, learning to use utensils, andlearning more words and putting sentences together. We have a big year ahead. All we are trying now is getting off the bottle but he won't go to sleep without it. Otherwise he's off, so hopefully it's coming soon!

Christmas Eve in the E.R.
posted on 12/27/2007

We hope you all had a wonderful Christmas. We had a good one except Raleigh's first Emergency Room visit.

Saturday Raleigh started feeling bad. He felt warm to the touch and he was very fussy. Well Sunday when he was still acting the same way we got worried. Raleigh has always been so sweet and never fussy & sad. So Sunday we got home from Christmas lunch and took his temp. and it was 102.6. Well we were very worried but we called the Doctor and were told to do bath's and tylenol to bring the temp. down. Well that worked until Monday morning it was back up but by that afternoon it was down slightly. So rather then skip my family's Christmas we loosely dressed him and left. We only stayed two hours but he was very upset and clearly miserable. When we got home it was at 103.6 and we were told to come to the Hospital. It turns out to be a viral infection and sore throat. They gave us Amoxicillin and that seems to be helping. Today is the first day temp. free.  Please pray for Raleigh to have a quick recovery. It is so tough to see him in pain and it was very scary for a while. Thank you everyone for all your thoughts and PRESENTS!! :)
