Just popped in for an update and nearly started crying reading your latest update. He sounds so great and it is good to hear that you are building up to bringing him home.

| hey! Everything is looking so great. Dont put so much pressure on yourself with the feeding thing.Just make sure both you and Ronan are happy and settled. Try to keep things in perspective and way up what is most important. It sounds like breast feeding is quite important to you, but just try to remember you have got a wonderfully healthy baby boy , against quite a few odds, so if you have to give up breast feeding and that is the only thing you have to change from your game plan on raising your little bundle maybe its just not that big a sacrifice for what you will gain from it.Ronan will thrive from a happy peaceful mother feeding him through a bottle rather than a stressed breast feeding mother. I'm certainly not trying to say that it wouldnt be stressful but sometimes we just dont get everything exactly how we want it, like we want a natural birth and that doesnt happen. But you have to keep remembering what you DID get and that is Ronan! who is a healthy little boy who needs you. All of you. Dont beat yourself up. The job you have done is OUTSTANDING. And if putting Ronan on the bottle calms the situation and brings your little boy home to you faster and happy and healthy dont feel like that is a failure just a sensible decision that you should be proud of.Your son has shown how strong and wonderful he is so putting him on a bottle certainly isnt going to hold this little man back. Hang in there and I hope you feel a little less frustrated soon and just dont forget to enjoy your son! Take Care. xoxo |

Hi Julia,
Oh how I know the frustration of the getting the feeding right so they can come home. Its the final obstacle in their way and doesnt it just feel so frustrating and annoying and you really want to yell at someone dont you. Hang in their Julia you are doing so very very well with the breastfeeding. I ended up giving up because I wasnt producing enough so Erin was having supplements of formula and I was just getting so very frustrated that I just wanted her home and I ended up not caring if it was on formula or not. Stick with it and always remember Ronan is your baby and you know whats best for him so let the staff guide you but dont let them make all the decisions if you know better, especially regarding his feeding
Good luck and from the sounds of your frustrations hes going to be home in the next week , they usually seem to go home right when your starting to feel the most frustrated with it all.
love

Hi Rac,
Just checking in on you! Noticed you've been absent from the Junies for a while and thought the best place to find you would be...well, your journal! I just needed to actually get my brain moving...you wouldn't think it would be that hard...but them's the downsides of carrying to term! Sounds like all is well |
