Spring!

Hi everybody!

I am really starting to enjoy this idea of warm weather, playing outside and not wearing a big bulky jacket.  I even got new running shoes and sandals for the nicer weather.

Some of you may be familiar with the concept of a "baya". Well, to most of you it would be a blanket.  I have become a little attached to one in particular.  I wouldn't even eat my breakfast without it, yesterday!

While dinner was being made, 2 days ago, mom, dad and I played "soccer" in our backyard. It was so much fun chasing the ball, kicking it and throwing it.  My parents were impressed with my soccer skills.  Maybe I will sign up for lessons when I am old enough. For now, my mom is finding me a gymnastics class, maybe for the summer. I love doing headstands!!!

Yesterday, my neighbour and daycare buddy, Riley, went for a ride to the park on our buggies and we kept on going down the slide! We LOVE the slide!  I even tried to climb up a rock climbing wall!!

A Long Weekend
posted on 04/14/2009

The Passover Easter weekend just ended and now things go back to normal. Mommy is back to work and I am back at daycare!

We had 1 seder at Bubbie's and one at our house. They were pretty good, I even read a little of the Hagadah. Cousin Harriette sat and read to me, after dinner at our house and I helped her do her laundry. I escorted her downstairs and watched her fold her laundry. When Zadie left our house, I said "See ya!" and everybody laughed!!!

I went to my swimming lesson and had an ok. The best part is jumpining in the water and of course the slide!

Bubbie finally felt well enough to have me sleepover. When mommy and daddy dropped me off, I kept saying "bye bye" and pointed to the door and told daddy to "go"!!!  It went well.  I slept nicely, about 12hrs., then she had two little boys come over to play.  Bubbie made me some kind of Passover latke that I ate with jam.  By mid afternoon, I took a little nap for 3hrs!! Good thing Bubbie got to rest.

Last week was my 18 month check up! I am still small but healthy!!!

Approaching 18 months!

An exciting update is that Jordana's earring holes, did not close.  Bubbie figured this out last weekend so we've been trying to put her earrings back in all week.  Of course, she will not let us near her ears, so I asked Waheeda (daycare) to try and sure enough she is wearing earrings. Let's hope they stay in this time! She looks so cute!

This evening, Alyse cut Jordana's nails, what an honour.  She NEVER lets us do it!!!

Jordana is finding new ways of climbing on furniture.  I imagine that she'll get on to the kitchen table soon.

Tomorrow is the last of 3 weeks of birthday parties, all from neighbours on the street.  First there was Matthew and Maya, then Riley and Jacob tomorrow.  Jordana tried a slushie at Riley's party last week, she enjoyed it and did well drinking from a straw!

Some of her new words are "happy" which is associated with birthday, "shroom" for washroom, for those who speak Yiddish, "ka ka" for taka and she answers many things with yes and sure.  She is getting better at counting to 10.

Tuesday is her checkup. We'll see what the Dr. says then.  I am guessing that she is 22-23lbs.  She is getting heavy!

March Break!
posted on 03/20/2009

Jordana had a treat of having mommy home in the mornings this week.  She still went to daycare but seemed suprised to see me this past Monday morning.  It's so nice to hear her cute voice blabbing away in the mornings.

As of last week, she has started to count to 10, with help of course.  We often count the steps as we go up/down them.  She is even starting to join in singing the ABCs.  It sounds like she's filling in some sounds of the letters with some tune!

Jordana often loves to share.   She sometimes forces us to eat her food, as well as sharing with her dolls/stuffed animals.  This evening, she got up, walked across the room and had to feed Crasins to Curious George, then a doll on the other side of the room, then another doll in the middle of the room and them me!!!

I wish I could get her to brush her teeth better but I guess whatever she does is better than nothing.  She is still very good at going to sleep at night!!!

Development!

Seems like Jordana is saying new words all the time!  She says, up, down, thank you, please, happy, dog and a couple of friends names (she may even say more but I just can't remember them all).

She discovered how to get on to the couch herself!!!  Her Bubbie taught her how to wink (supposedly, I've never seen it)!!!  Today she ate dinner in the booster seat but using the table.  She looked like a big girl!

Swimming is getting more enjoyable every week, although the highlight remains the slide!! She just can't get enough of it!

Jordana has a GREAT appetite and demands to feed herself.  She is getting better at using a spoon.  Her tummy is growing and I think even her height.  We have to wait another month for her 18 month check up.

Now, she is fast asleep!

Busy Times!

I feel like it has been a while since I've written.  Since the last time, I have learned to understand more words and even say more words.  I impressed mommy by counting "one, two, three".

I LOVE Ketchup on everything.  Yesterday, I put it on cranberries and today on apples.  My parents think I am weird!!!

On Saturday night, we went to Dave & Busters and I got sit on some rides and "play" with steering wheels. It was so much fun.  It got even better when we went to the car show yesterday, with cousin Michelle and Frank.  Frank is starting to like me and Michelle gave me a huge Curious George.  I love him!!!  I like to hug and kiss him.

Sorry, I am cutting this short, I have to take a bath!

A Fun Weekend!

On Saturday I went for my 3rd swimming lesson.  I really like walking through the wading pool.  I didn't cry this week.  I floated in a life jacket on my back and kicked my legs, tried to blow bubbles and I got to go down the slide again! I love the slide, I even went underwater when I came down.  Good thing Daddy was there to grab me though, because I really don't know how to swim yet.

Cousin Michelle and Frank came to visit on Saturday night. Michelle wanted me to be hyper but I just wanted to sit on her lap and read books. Mom and dad were jealous!!!

On Sunday mom and I went to Jen and Orli's for a brunch.  I got to play with babies that I used  to go walking with.  It was a really fun morning.  I even said "Oyee", as in Orli!!  I know I shouldn't be pushing some of these babies, I am not even sure why I do.

From there, we went to visit Bubbie whose been sick all week. She wore a mask and has a funny voice.  I gave her "high 5s"!  This made her happy!!!

Then I fell asleep on the way home, so mom picked dad up and we went to the Science Centre.  It is so much fun there. The hallways are huge so I can run as much as I want. There are lots of buttons to press, lights to see and objects to touch. I really want to go there again.

We ended the day by having dinner at the Spaghettie Factory.  That spaghetti was yummy. It feels so good to run the pasts through my little slippery hands.  I even go to eat some chocolate ice cream.

Changes
posted on 01/22/2009

Jordana is just about finished her first week at a new home daycare.  She visited before starting and she seems to be very happy there.  Waheeda, the caregiver says that Jordana is active, loud and very sweet, she seems to be happy with her.  Yesterday, Jordana had a pontail (on top of her head) when I went to pick her up.

Although she is happy at the daycare and doesn't want to put on her jacket to leave, she changes when she gets home.  Trying to figure out what is going on.  Is it just the change in environments, is she rebelling against rules now?  I don't know but she is like an energizer bunny who NEVER stops and thinks she can do and throw anything she wants.  IF ONLY SHE COULD TALK.
