Sick, sick, sick!
posted on 11/08/2009

I woke up on our last day in Buffalo with a fever.  Daddy got up early to go buy a thermometer and some Motrin.  My fever was right around 100F all day long but you wouldn't know by watching me.  I played like normal and even took a bath.  We didn't get to go to the zoo like we planned because of it.  I was pretty upset but I know we'll get to go again soon.

The car ride home was pretty uneventful.  I slept much of the way actually and that's how Mommy knew I really wasn't feeling well then to top it off when we stopped for lunch, I didn't eat.  Just drank my juice.

Later that night, I woke up with a fever over 104F!  Daddy was sleeping with me and I was just crying.  I really didn't feel good at all.  So Mommy called the doctor in the middle of the night.

After some Tylenol, the temp went down and I was able to sleep some more.  Later on Monday,  my fever spiked again and wasn't helped by Tylenol so Mommy called the doctor again and was told the symptoms sound like H1N1 flu (swine flu) but we'll probably never know for sure.  I didn't have any problems that would cause us to go to the doctor so we just stayed home to ride it out.  We alternated Tylenol and Motrin for awhile then my nose started running and I was coughing.  I'm still coughing pretty bad and my nose is still running a week later!!  And to make things worse, I gave it to Zia.  Poor Baby!!

We didn't do anything all week except lay around and watch movies.  The first few days I didn't even play because I was so sick.  Mommy is going to put all the photos in the photo section instead of in the journals because there are so many of them.  (again, sorry for the delay in updates.  With us being sick and Mommy is sick too, there wasn't any time.)

I did feel a little better by Saturday and went to gymnastics.  I wouldn't have missed that for anything!!  I was fever free for a few days so everyone said as long as I was up to we could/should go.  And we did.  I'm doing so good in it we signed up for the second session.  I love going.

Yesterday, there was a movie on tv called "Stick It."  It was all about big girls doing gymnastics.  I told Mommy I want to do all that someday.  Mommy said as long as I work hard and enjoy it we can continue to go.  YAY!

Happy Halloween!!
posted on 10/31/2009

Halloween is Here!!  We had so much fun!!  First we drove to Buffalo to hang out there with Grammie and Grandpa.  We all went to bed early on Friday when we got there so we could be ready for the busy day on Saturday.

When we woke up, we got dressed and headed to the Pet Store.  We couldn't go to the zoo because it was too windy and too cold.  We didn't pack for the wintery day that it was so we went to the warm pet store instead.  I ran around and checked out everything including the crickets and worms that everything eats.

We stopped in the Halloween store to check things out but it was too scary for me.  Lots of scary masks and scenes that I was pretty nervous about.  Mommy and I let Grammie and Daddy look around while we hung out waiting for them.

Then we went to Toys R Us.  I got a Halloween card in the mail that had some money it so instead of saving it up, we went and spent it right away.  I got a new Cinderella toy with shoes and clothes since my Aurora doll broke.  Mommy tried to convince me to get something else but I stood strong and got my doll.  Thanks Grammie!!  I spent a long time running around the toy store checking everything out.  Mommy and Daddy kept saying "how about this?" or "this is neat"  Mommy has some great ideas for Christmas now.

Once we finally got to Grammie's house I had some lunch and then the phone rang.  Great Grandpa Jacobs was having some problems again so we decided to go see him.  We got back into the car and drove out for a visit.  He loves us!  We wish we could see him more often.  They have some really neat fish there too.  The coolest part was the Halloween Tree set up in the entry.  And some cool spiders and ghosts.  I was all dressed up in my Aurora costume!  We put it on first thing in the morning because I was so excited!!

By the time we got back to Grammie's, Grandpa Ron was home from work YAY and we had some pizza and wings for dinner.  A trip to Buffalo isn't a trip to Buffalo without at least one staple for dinner.

Then, the craziest thing happened.  Someone knocked on Grammie's door and said "trick or treat."  I ran to the door to see what going on and to my amazement there was something there.  Grammie gave them some candy, they said thank you and left.  Hey, I thought, I could do that.  I yelled "come on Mommy, let's go." It was time to head out.  We put Vicky upstairs so she wouldn't bark at everyone and got Zia dressed and headed out the door.

Miss Beth and Jessie went with us too.  That was fun.  I walked up to the neighbor's house and when the guy opened the door I said "trick or treat" and "thank you" and went to the next house.  Oh what fun that was!!!  We went to a lot of houses and Mommy let me have some suckers and candy on the way.  She used to dip into her bags when she was little so she thought why not.  I had a great time!

I only cried twice.  Once, we were petting a giant St. Bernard dog and the lady gave me candy into the bag Mommy was carrying and I wanted it in my bag.  The lady was nice enough to give me a second piece in my bag.  The second time I was walking up the stairs and I fell down.  The wind was blowing so hard, I fell down.  The wind blew me over!!!

Once we got back home Zia was still sleeping, she only went with us for a little bit before she fell asleep and we went through my candy and had some. Yummy!  I ended up being awake way too late because of all the excitement.

Sunday, I woke up with a fever so we packed up and drove home early.

Tea Party
posted on 10/28/2009

We went on a playdate today to visit Kait and Donovan.  We just love hanging out with them.  We played upstairs in their bedrooms, we played in the living room, we played in the kitchen and we also had a tea party at the dining room table.  Donovan helped me make some lemonade and it was really yummy.  I drank it straight away and wanted more.  Mommy said maybe next time I could have more.

I talked about that tea party for hours afterwards!  We had a lot of fun.

Zia's doctor visit
posted on 10/27/2009

We had to get up early today to take Zia to the doctor for her 6 month visit.  Daddy wanted to go so we all went.  Mommy told me I had to behave myself and listen.  I didn't disappoint!  I didn't get in any trouble once.  Sometimes I surprise her.

I was such a good girl that the Doctor took me to get a lollipop!  Zia has to take some medicine so we had to wait at the pharmacy for the meds so we went and hung out in the atrium with the waterfall.  I like to throw pennies in the water.  Mommy tried to tell me to make a wish but I don't think I understand that concept yet.  We did some running around and looking at the water and again I was great.

I'm doing really good lately about helping Mommy.  I love to clean up after dinner and wash the dishes.  I helped load the dishwasher and unload it later on.

Funny things I say
posted on 10/26/2009

I fell in the kitchen today and hurt my arm.  Mommy asked if I was ok and my response was "hurt arm, Sonyea go Doctor, get shot."  Mommy asked if I really wanted to go to the doctor and get a shot and I said yes.  Mommy laughed and even told my doctor about it when we took Zia.  He thought it was pretty funny too.

-----------------------------------------

Daddy did some work for Bob and we had to go meet up with him to get some money.  I wanted to watch a movie after lunch but we had to run out first.  As we were pulling up to see Bob I said from the backseat... "Where's the money?"  Everyone laughed!  I'm so silly!

A little bit later I said "Sonyea need money."  Mommy asked what I needed money for and I said "Sonyea need money to give Daddy."  love5

Happy Birthday
posted on 10/24/2009

I've been looking forward to Myles' birthday party for a week now.  Mommy told me about it and I talked about it for a long time.  Boy was I excited when I woke up today.

First we had to go to gymnastics though.  I LOVE GYMNASTICS!  I could go all day every day if I could.  I'm getting so good at everything and we are hoping to be able to start the second session in a few weeks.  I'm going to miss next weeks class because we are going to Buffalo for Halloween.

Boy, I was even more excited when class was over and it was time to head out to Myles' house EXCEPT Mommy said we had to run to the store!  How dare you Mommy!!

We walked into Toys R Us and you should have heard me!  I stopped dead in my tracks because there was Princess stuff EVERYWHERE on the walls.  The first things we looked at were Princesses.  I wanted to bring it all home and Mommy actually felt a little bad because we couldn't get me anything today.  We spent a long time looking for the perfect present for Myles and we finally decided on some Playdoh tools.  Did you know that there is something Princess in EVERY AISLE!!!  It was awesome.

We had to delay our exit because Zia had a poopy diaper and needed to nurse so I was a little bit more patient waiting to go to Myles' party.

You won't believe that I actually fell asleep on the way there!!  When I woke up I was so very excited to see we were in Myles' driveway!

We played and ate pizza and cupcakes, I sang Happy Birthday really good too.  We even jumped on the bed but as usual someone caught us and yelled at us to stop.  Mommy had to take me aside for a little time out because I wasn't sharing toys.  To my defense I was really tired!  I got a really cool gift bag for visiting Myles' party, some stickers, bubbles, crayons, a coloring book, a bouncy ball that Zia likes to chew on.  It looks like an apple when she chews on it.  We had an awesome time and are thankful for friends!

picnic in the park
posted on 10/22/2009

Mommy had an appointment today and had to bring Zia and I with her.  She said if I behaved myself and payed attention and followed the rules we'd find a park.  She said I did awesome so we had a picnic lunch at the park on this fine blustery day.  It's really windy outside and we had to use our cups to hold everything down so they didn't blow away.  Except one napkin did fly away and I had to run after it and catch it.  Mommy was laughing at me because it kept blowing away as I tried to catch it.  Mommy said we can't litter, it's not nice for the planet.  I had fun playing on the merry-go-round, pushing Mommy and Zia was fun but it's really hard to stop.  What a great time we had at the park today.

Apple/Pumpkin/Spice cake
posted on 10/20/2009

Mommy found a really yummy apple/pumpkin/spice cake recipe online the other day.  Since we have a bunch of apples laying around Mommy decided it was time to try it.  We went out and got a bunch of the spices that we need (did you know that Cardimom is EXPENSIVE?? There were two brands that were over TEN dollars but we found one that was only $5, thank goodness) and we set up to make the cake.

Mommy said we had to dice the apples first.  We started with a knife but it was really taking way too long.  Mommy got the chopper out and let me do most of it.  She cut the apples into manageable slices and I did all the hard work.  I had to push down really hard on the chopper.  Look!

They turned out the perfect size, see?

This is what it looked like after it cooked.  It smells soooooo good!

Maybe I'll try just a bite?
