First swim of the season
posted on 06/09/2008
Since it was so unbelievable hot and humid again today, Mommy put on her brand new bathing suit and off we went to Aggie's house to go swimming!! Daddy jumped right in and gave the pool a good skimming and me and Mommy slowly checked it all out. I was not happy to be there. I did not have any fun and it was just miserable for me. I refused to go to Daddy and I refused to have a good time. Mommy got cooled off and Daddy had a lot of water in his pockets. Mommy said she has a lot of pictures from last year and me having fun. I don't believe her one bit!!! She said there's a whole montage of me swimming!

After my morning nap, we braved the 93 degree heat and high humidity to attend my second B-Met's game. My first one, Mommy forgot the camera!! Today's was special because Cousin Johnnie was an honorary ball boy. He got to go on the field and give the balls to the Umpire for the game. We got to sit right next to the dugout and we were protected by the chainlink fence and net. However, Mommy's foot got hit by a foul ball (didn't hurt!!) and we got dirt flung on us because someone threw a bat and it hit the dirt right in front of us.
There was an empty seat next to Mommy, so I spent a lot of time getting in and out of it. I also made friends with the girl sitting next to that empty seat. Her name was Danielle and I tried to steal her cell phone and her water bottle but Mommy wouldn't let me. I did manage to steal her hat and put it on my head a few times. Mommy was very thankful that Danielle was so patient with me and played with me. It would have been difficult if she didn't like kids. After awhile, Mommy moved and sat next to her so I could play in the seat next to her and Daddy and bother them. It was fun.
I got to eat a pretzel with spicy cheese. YUMMY!! Mommy still won't let me have popcorn though. She's mean!
When we got to the game, it was 93 degrees. After a few innings (and a lot of runs, the score was 15-1 after the 4th inning) the temperature started to drop and the sun was hidden by the menacing clouds. It got really dark and started to sprinkle. After a second of sprinkles, we got POURED on!!! We grabbed our stuff and headed for the closest exit. We hung out with a bunch of people waiting for the rain to slow down and some nasty lightning and thunder were all around us. Mommy and I played in the rain a little bit. I really didn't know what to think about it because I've never been told to play in the rain before. I just kinda stood there looking around.
The rain kind of slowed down and we walked to the car. I talked the whole way home (it's not far, just under a mile!). Mommy said maybe next time I'll get to see some fireworks at the games. We see them from our living room all the time, but I'm usually sleeping.

We went to Miss Elisa's and Mr Brian's house for a cookout today. YUMMY!! I got to swing on the swing TWICE and run around and play. I got to tickle baby Hunter's toes and beep his nose. He slept most of the time we were there though. Elisa said he wasn't feeling well. He is looking more and more like his big brother Nathan. It was a fun day and I got to see a few motorcycles drive by!! They are just as loud there as they are on our street!

Right after breakfast this morning, Mommy got me dressed and then strapped me into the stroller. We've never gone for a walk this early in the morning! We walked down the hill and up a hill and up into Melody's backyard. A bunch of our friends were there and I was so excited to see them. Except for baby Anna, I was the youngest there!! That's pretty rare for me. The best part of the playdate was eating crackers the whole time and tickling Anna's toes. I can make that baby smile and be happy! Mommy said I have to work on being "nicer" though. I don't know what she's talking about. All I want to do is beep her nose and show her where her eyes are and grab her hair because I don't have any. She's such a pretty baby and she doesn't cry when I'm around. I also got to play with the hose and the water table, climb the play set but I didn't go down the slide today. I got to meet a new boy too. I've never met Donovan before. He's cute for a 4 year old!! He wanted to know why I fell down a lot and when Mommy explained to him that I'm still new at walking and fall down a lot he giggled. But then karma bit him in the butt and he fell down when he stepped on the ball! Mommy felt bad because she laughed at him. He took it really well and started stepping on the ball and falling over on purpose. Silly boy! When we got home I had some lunch and then took the longest nap EVER!! I slept for 4 hours!!! After dinner, Mommy got me dressed again and we went for another walk. Mommy was not happy about the hills between here and the park. She said the hill at the zoo isn't half as bad as these!! I got to play on the swing and the big slide. Mommy even let me sit on the tire swing and she pushed me around for a little bit. That was fun!!! Vicky was getting very hot and tired though and it was almost night-night time so we walked back home. We ran into a very scary dog that almost got under his fence to get to Vicky. Vicky got very scared and so did Mommy but I thought it was funny. Silly Mommy and Vicky, they were safe the whole time! Once we got home I got right into the bath, took my medicine and went right to sleep. Boy was it a hot day today and Mommy said tomorrow is supposed to be even worse!! It's too bad Aggie hasn't opened her pool yet!

Today, we had a picnic and visited the Binghamton Zoo with our friends Yvonne and her kids Morgan and Mathieu. We had a good time.
Afterwards, we rode the carrousel. I didn't like it one bit unless Mommy was holding me, then it was ok.

Today, Sonyea decided to get up at 5:30am!! I told her last night that she had to get up a little early so she could take a long nap before our outing to the zoo this afternoon. Well she took that a bit too literal. YIKES, 5:30 is too early!!!! We did a lot of fighting and finally we got sick of each other. She stayed in the living room to play while I came into the dining room to play. After awhile it became quiet. TOO QUIET!!!! This is what I found when I went to investigate...

I have always wanted her to pass out where she played. Today she did it. Now she's happily snoring on the floor. Poor baby!!

Sonyea is feeling much better the last few days!! The antibiotics are working and Tylenol has been our friend. She is finally sleeping through the night again and life is great all over again. She still has a bit of a runny, stuffy nose but it's nothing a little blowing won't handle.
We went to the Binghamton Zoo today (June3) with our friend's Danita and Aiden and had a great time. The kids got to run around and see some great animals. They have a bunch of new baby goats, but they are all sick with hookworms. YUCK! We had a great photo op with the Amur Leopard. Solnce jumped up to the window and stayed there while we got a bunch of pictures! The kids got a huge kick out of that!!

We had an awesome time in Buffalo!!! We left in time for me to take my morning nap on Friday. I slept for some time and then we played games, played with toys and ate snacks. I finally pooped after a few days so we had to pull over and change my diaper. Thank goodness we keep a blanket in the car because we had to do it on the side of the road. There wasn't any other place to stop. Good thing it wasn't raining either. We also stopped at a greenhouse in Alden and I got to see some really big fish and run around. We were really close to Buffalo, but we wanted a break from sitting.
Once we got to Grammie's house, we played a lot!!! After dinner, Mommy and Daddy went out for date night. They went out to dinner and saw Scythian. They can never get enough of that band. Mommy is pretty sad that they won't be at GrassRoots this year. I stayed with Grammie and Grandpa and then slept all night in the crib!!! Yay me!!
When we got up Saturday, we putzed around and played and then we tried to get me to nap. Yea, right!!! So we had a quick bite to eat and left to go to the Buffalo Zoo. Mommy and Daddy really like it there. We saw some really cool animals. I got to pet a goat and saw a Blue Tongue Skink close up!!! Cool!! Mommy said if we ever get a pet lizard it'll be a blue tongue. She said they are awesome. I did a lot of animal noises at the zoo, mostly barking... but I told everyone what a rhino says! Daddy said the mommy rhino turned and looked at me when we did the noises. We'll check the videos we have and get them uploaded another time. Mommy said she's got a back log of videos to be uploaded!!
We went out for dinner on Saturday night and had some great spaghetti!! Everyone was laughing at me because I slurp my pasta. It's so yummy!! Afterwards, we played some more. I did a lot of playing this weekend!!
On Sunday, I went for a ride with Grammie and Grandpa. They all wanted me to take a nap so we went out for a car ride and did some errands. While I was gone, Mommy and Daddy went to the Albright-Knox Art Gallery. Mommy had never been there and Daddy thought all the stuff upstairs was really cool. They are glad they didn't bring me because I would have been very bored. (and probably loud) Later that day, Beth and the girls came to play. We ate yummy food and played games. Daddy played catch with the football and even some softball with the girls. I wanted to play, but I really, just kept trying to run into the street. Why won't they let me play there?? I just don't get it and every time they'd stop me, I'd have a tantrum!! One of these days, I'm going to play in the street whether they like it or not.
Monday, I played and ate some breakfast and took a quick bath and off to Rochester we went to see Uncle Keith and the family there. We had a lot of fun and had a great lunch. Thanks again!! I got to ride in Cousin Jake's car. He's the coolest kid I know. I don't know anyone else under the age of 16 that can drive their own car!! I even got a ride in it for a short bit. I really liked to beep the horn and play with the radio. I also got to play some baseball and played with Vicky's water dish and then we played games. I like going there. I even got a ton of new books!! THANK YOU FOR THE BOOKS!!! They are really cool and we'll need to get a new bookshelf for all the books I have.
Once we left Rochester, I slept THE WHOLE WAY TO BINGHAMTON!!! Mommy was so happy. I really needed a good nap like that. We are happy to be home, but sad to be away from our Buffalo family. We'll have to do it all again really, really soon!!
Oh, and we found 2more molars while we were in Buffalo. The bottom right and the top left are now in. Just one more to go and hopefully, I'll be done teething for awhile.
