Busy weekend again

We are back from another busy weekend. We travelled to Buffalo again, this time to see a band called Scythian. They played the Irish Festival in Buffalo. If you've never been, check back here next year around this time. We will be going again. They had a lot of great music and dancers and even a musical comedian. He also does a kids only show, we didn't see that one, but we canjust imagine what he was planning on telling the kids. The one joke...."kids, tell your parents to buy you my CD, on sale over there. If they don't, you'll be getting a puppy for Christmas." Scythian played twice and we stayed to see both shows, Miss Sonyea ended up falling asleep on the dance floor. It was such a busy day. Check out the new montage for pictures.
Scythian has such high tempo music that you can't help but dance and bounce to. I'm going to upload a song for one of the picture pages so you can get a sample of it. We are just in love with this group. They were the highlite of the GrassRoots Fest. I even told them that! =)
Then, Sunday, we travelled to Canada. We went to meet some friends in St Catherines. We got to meet Minette and her daughter Kaitlin. We met them last year online on the WTE website. Nobody will ever understand the bond we have with each other. I am so lucky to have them as friends and have them relatively close by. It was Sonyea's first trip to Canada. She slept through the first trip through customs, but was awake for the second trip. She was very good and didn't give the customs agent any lip. =)
After that we went to visit Great Grandpa Jacobs. She even crawled two steps for him. That was surprising for mommy and daddy! Sonyea just loves Great Grandpa! Gave him kisses and hugs. She told him lots of stories too. He wants to keep her since Mommy won't let him keep Vicky. But we keep saying no. =) Grandpa's a very funny guy! Everyone just love him!! Including Vicky who gets lots of dog treats from him. Silly dog!

Today, Sonyea was her usual morning happiness. She took a decent nap in her crib and then she started cranking again. I really wish her teeth would come in for crying out loud. She gets so cranky in the afternoons. We tried to stem some of it by giving her some lunch. She had a whole tub of peaches!! She did well. This evening, she had her dinner of peas and then cranked some more, so we gave her half a tub of mangos! She really liked those. I wonder if she's just hungry instead of just cranky. She is six months old afterall and the word on the street is that they go through a growth spurt at this time. She can hardly wear her six month clothes and we are going through a growth spurt. Esh! She also took an afternoon nap in her crib. I was doing some research on baby sleep and she should be sleeping about 12-15 hours a day. She sleeps 12 hours a night, so 3 hours worth of naps a day is about right. And that's what she's been doing. This mommy thing is hard sometimes! I wouldn't change a thing!

Somebody is going through a growth spurt, teething pains, nap strike, cranky pants are too tight something. Not very much makes this sweet lady happy right now. She's always hungry, always chewing wait....BITING everything. You can't see anything on the gum line so who knows. Did somebody give us a pair of cranky pants for a shower present? We have our moments where she sweet and plays like normal, but a lot of the time we are listening to her cry. We try so much and OY! The days are getting shorter noticably, maybe she can tell the difference? Mommy gets cranky when the sun leaves for such long times at night.
And if you *did* give us a pair of cranky pants, can we have the reciept so we can exchange them for something else?

She has really been fighting sleep lately! Really, really fighting sleep. This afternoon, she was so tired, she started falling asleep sitting up. Here's the video for it. Short and sweet.

The last few days, Sonyea has decided that the green beans are ok. She doesn't scarf them down like she does the cereal or sweet potatoes though. She's eating so much more now. She gets a mix of cereal and a fruit in the morning. She gets her veggie at night. And sometimes when her feeding schedule is thrown off, she'll get more cereal at night before her last bottle.
She is doing so well the last few days. Keeping me laughing. She is practicing really hard to crawl. Not really going anywhere though. She can go backwards until she runs into something. She tries really hard up on all fours and rocks. It's the cutest thing. She also just loves to watch Vicky. She thinks that crazy dog is the funniest thing around since Daddy!

As you read on the front page, Sonyea is getting a sippy cup now. She is learning how to use it and we had wasted a lot of sticky apple juice with it. We are now using water and she is practicing staying cool as well. More of the water ends up on her shirt and in her lap than in her belly. It's ok, that's how we learn!

There is also a picture on the fun facts page.
