Spiedie Fest

Grandma Marlene and Grandpa Ron came into town to visit us for the Spiedie Festival and Balloon Rally this weekend. You'll have to check out the montage mommy made of all the balloons taking off. We were in awe. For those of you who are not around here, Spiedie's (pronounced speedys) are a marinaded meat, chicken, pork, beef, lamb, whatever and put on a piece of italian bread. Anyways, we ran into Grandpa John and Grandma Lois. We hung out with them for most of the night. It was great fun. We also met Aunt Leslie and Gary for the first time, Sonyea just woke up so she was a little confused. We also saw Grandma Patty and Skully. There was record attendance for Saturday. You should have seen the line to meet and greet the Cheetah Girls. Crazy! Mario Lopez was the guest on Sunday, but we didn't go to that. Mommy remembers him from when she was a kid watching "Saved by the Bell."
Since Sonyea doesn't have any teeth yet, she was not allowed to taste any spiedies. All the grown ups did though. We'll, Grandpa John had a gyro because he didn't want to stand in line for a spiedie. Check out the fun facts page for what Sonyea did over the weekend.

Grandma Marlene gave Sonyea her try of carrots tonight. In fact, she liked them so much, she ate the entire tub. That was one big tub of Gerber carrots!! She was a mess too. Will have to wait for pics. Spiedie Fest tomorrow and Sunday. Should have more fun pics.

Grandma let me get very messy! I'm not usually this messy with mommy though. It was fun!

Sonyea slept much better last night. She went to sleep about 9pm and woke up around 3ish, but she put herself back to sleep in no time. She was up for a feeding about 5:30am and then went right back to sleep. She woke up for the day at 9:30 and was playing in her crib for almost a half hour. Mommy didn't get much sleep during that half hour. When Mommy checked on Sonyea she was banging her legs on the mattress and making the mobile animals bounce around and she thought that was pretty funny. It was super cute. Daddy had to move the mattress down in the crib because last week mommy checked on Sonyea and she had both her hands on the top rail of the crib. We don't want any babies falling out of the crib and getting hurt. Sonyea didn't seem to notice the change either.
Did you know that sweet potatoes turn your poop orange?
The weather outside is getting hot. We are going to go to the grocery store for more sweet potatoes and go swimming. We are looking forward to that!

Sonyea finished off another jar of sweet potatoes tonight. She just loves them! Hardly any of it was wasted.
A bit later, she also had some watered down apple juice. She was acting like she was hungry and it was only an hour before bath, bottle and bed. Didn't want to give her a bottle early, so Mommy gave her some juice. She really drank it down. Later, at her bottle for bed, she spit up a lot of it, but that's because there was still a lot in her belly when she was given her bottle.
Daddy was doing the dishes and it was time for Sonyea to take a bath, so Mommy filled up the big people tub. It was pretty difficult because Sonyea can't yet sit up by herself good enough for a real bath. She also only wanted to splash and kick her legs so it was pretty hard to get her all cleaned up. She had a lot of fun though. We used a thing that Cousin Bill gave us for the bath that allows the babies to lay down and not be underwater. It was cool to use to scrub her up. Check out the picture section for some bath time fun.

Mommy is working hard on the new GrassRoots montage, but the computer and/or onetruemedia.com isn't cooperating. She is having a really hard time getting music uploaded so you don't have to look at pics in silence. If this newest batch doesn't work, she's going to try again tomorrow. If that doesn't work, she'll figure something out. Sorry it's taking so long. Mommy is also frustrated that she hasn't been updating the site like she used to.
Update:: Finally got the montage done. We didn't use the music we wanted to, but the first song is from GrassRoots last year. Hope you enjoy it, and don't laugh too hard at Mommy dancing. She does much better when she has a routine.
