The Stracke Triplet Girls-Have Arrived!

Ok so the posting more often didn't quite happen, oops!

The girls were 8 months old on the 18th, and that evening after I put them to bed I looked back at the pictures we took when they were a day old and I cried. They have grown so much and are such amazing little babies!  It also makes me so happy to know that they are so healthy and they are my little miracles!

at their 6 month checkup on June 24, Maggie weighed 17 lbs 3 ozs and was 27" long. Harlow was 16 lbs 9 ozs and 26 3/4" long. Blair was 13 lbs 3 ozs and 26" long.  They are all growing up so fast. Maggie is a chunk, but not a fat roll on her, she is just a solid little girl! She has 2 teeth now, sits up great on her own, can spin around and kinda scoot on her tummy if she needs to get to something.  She rolls over at night now and I usually find her on her tummy in the mornings.  She has the most beautiful blues eyes and fuzzy blonde hair :)   Harlow is finally sitting up on her own, still doesn't have any teeth pushed through and has TONS of hair coming in, her hair is the darkest of all 3 and the thickest.  She has the most beautiful smile and her little eyes really light up.  She is still a cuddler:)   Blair is a wild woman!! She flips over in the bouncy seat onto her tummy and then scoots out onto the floor till she is on her knees and then slides the rest of the way onto the floor so she can play!  I really think that there will be many a trip to the ER for Miss Blair!  She was the first to sit up and she has 6!! teeth now!  She is still the runt, ever so tiny.  Her hair is really blonde now which is funny since she had the darkest hair at birth.

They are really good babies and pretty easy going most days.  I have them on a pretty good schedule so even though life is crazy its manageable :)

The big girls are doing great.  Its been a long summer and I am just as ready as they are for them to start preschool. Alexis will be going 4 days a week and Hadleigh just 1 morning a week for now.  I think they will both do great!

My life is chaotic and some days just downright overwhelming, but I love being a mama and am very lucky to have such a great husband that allows me to stay home. We don't have all the fancy material things but we have each other and in the end that is all that will matter.   Most days I worry already about how we will pay for things when the girls are older, but I hope that my girls will be able to look at me and see that I was trying to be the best mommy I could by staying at home with them and that will be a good trade off for not having the fanciest shoes, ipod or Lord knows what by that time :)

6 months old

I am SOOOOO behind on this! The triplets will be 6 months old on Thursday, and I haven't updated our site in forever, not on purpose, but it seems like each time I sat down to update someone needed something or I got busy with other things. But I decided today I would just sit down and update quickly and try to add some new pics.

At 2 month checkup they weighed in at: Maggie 11 lbs 6 ozs and 21 3/4 inches. Harlow 11 lbs 7 ozs and 22 inches. Blair 9 lbs 4 ozs and 20 inches.

The triplets at their 4 month checkup weighed: Maggie 14 lbs 8 ozs and was 26" long.  Blair was 11 lbs 2 ozs and was 23 3/4" long. Harlow was 14 lbs 1 ozs and 24 1/2" long.  They are all still growing about the same with Maggie being the biggest, she is one solid little girl!! Blair a.k.a. Peanut is still as petite as ever, I seriously think her waist is the same size as the day she was born, lucky little turd!  All 3 can rollover and Blair does it the easiest.  All 3 laugh, smile and giggle!  Harlow is by far the easiest to make laugh, and she laughs the most.  Harlow is also the most snuggly out of the 3.  Blair is everyone's favorite, because she is little and because when she grins its almost as big as her whole head, she is our little dork.  Maggie can arch her back and get across the floor if she wants to, its kinda funny to watch her.

They like to be outside and they are really easy going babies. I am ready for them to be able to sit up as it will make like just a little easier if I can plop them on a blanket in the yard instead of having to buckle them all in their stroller.  They have been all over, we go to Alexis' tball games and we go watch Papa and Bubba at the races.  I try to take them out walking as often as the lovely Nebraska weather allows.

Life is crazy insane but I wouldn't trade one second of it.  I would do it all over again if given the chance! I love my 5 little girls more than life itself! It takes me forever to get everyone ready to go somewhere, but I am getting better at it. I am exhausted most of the time, but I am getting used to it.  I know how blessed and lucky I am.

I will try to post on here more often, but I must keep moving today, the sun is finally shining so we better go get work done :)  I added some new pics, so enjoy :D

First Big Outing
posted on 03/25/2009

We decided to be brave and travel to Omaha last Friday and Saturday.  The trip went well, I can honestly say it wasn't bad at all. Tiresome yes, but hey every day is like that here.

We went out to eat at Famous Dave's, all 7 of us! and we made it through the meal with no one crying, no one, not even me! :) It was great.  We stayed in a hotel and went swimming and everyone had a great time. Mommy and Blair got up early and went shopping at a multiples sale on Saturday morning and got some great buys, next sale we will have to take Daddy along though so we can get some big stuff.  We got alot of shopping done as everyone needed some new spring and summer clothes.

Everyone is doing great, growing like weeds!  The trio slept really good last night and took a long nap all at the same time yesterday so I am hoping thats the signs of a repeating pattern, although I won't complain because they do sleep most nights and I love every minute of being a mommy to all 5 of my gorgeous girls!

Hope everyone is doing well. We are so ready for the spring weather to come and STAY!! we have went out walking a few times now and are ready to go out again.  So warm weather get here already!

The trio were 12 weeks old yesterday, its hard to believe how fast the time is going. Although some days I feel like there is no way time could creep by any slower.  I am SOOO ready for warm weather so we can all get out of the house and not be cooped up and irritable anymore.  The babies are doing great.

Maggie weighed 12 lbs 7 ozs. Harlow 12 lbs 4 ozs and Blair 9 lbs 4 ozs yesterday.  They are all getting longer mostly I can tell since they have in the past week outgrown ALOT of their clothes.  It seems like I clean out a couple outfits a day now, which really means time is flying by.

I decided I would see just how many diapers I was changing and just how many bottles I was filling so I tried to keep count yesterday.  In 24 hours yesterday I changed 27 diapers, which is average here there was no poopy messes that needed extra changes. I would say we use 24 diapers a day every day at least.  The scary thing is I made 22  4 oz bottles yesterday.  They eat alot right now, its crazy.  Its really all I get done is make bottles.

They all will smile at us now when we talk to them, and really acknowledge that they see us, which is awesome.  They all 3 will talk to you when you talk to them, Maggie especially like to coo and gurgle.  Maggie is the roly poly one, and holds her head up the best.  Blair and Harlow also do well at holding their heads up.

We are ready for warm weather, we have a triple stroller now so I can't wait to get out and walk with the girls.  Hopefully it will make them sleep better.  We are doing better with the sleeping, they are starting to take longer naps during the day now instead of tons of cat naps, so that makes me think the sleeping through the night should be any time now. They do usually sleep for about 5 hours at a time most nights, so I can't and won't complain.

Well I better get moving, my projects for today were to finish sorting through their clothes as I am having a HUGE garage sale on the 28th so I need to get everyone's dressers cleaned out and start getting ready to put the warm weather clothes in them.

I will add more pics soon, my desktop crashed this morning and thats where all the pics are, so I will add those as soon as I can.

Have a great weekend!

As you can tell I am busy! LOL!
posted on 02/16/2009

Obviously its been a while since I had time to write on our journal, guess that I have been a little busy! LOL!

THe babies are doing good.  We have had a lot of sickness at our house and had a very scary week and weekend.  Harlow and Hadleigh had the "crud" first at our house, it knocked Haddy out for 2 days she didn't do anything but lay on the floor downstairs and sleep. Harlow had a runny nose and horrible cough. Took them to the doctor got some nebulizer treatments and antibiotics for them.  Then I got it, then Maggie got it. I took all 3 of them and had them tested for RSV. Maggie's came back weekly positive(whatever the hell that means) and Blair and Harlow came back negative.  Wednesday night Maggie didn't look very good at all.  Harlow had an appt. with our Peditrician in Norfolk on Thursday for her belly button so I took off with her early Thursday morning.  My mom stayed with the other 4 girls.  I called to ask Matt something at about 230 and when he answered I asked him what he was doing and he said I am at the hospital, you talk about your heart stopping!  I freaked, of course I was also driving in Norfolk, he decided to take Maggie to have her looked at.  She was really gray in color and just not breathing really well.  They did some tests on her at the hospital and then decided they were going to put her in the ambulance and take her to Norfolk.  So I was just going to wait for them to get there.  So Harlow and I went into Walmart to kill time and wait for them.  Tara then calls and tells me they have decided not to take any chances and they have called the LifeNet for her! AGAIN heart stops beating.  They were going to fly her to Children's in Omaha.  Matt calls then and says go ahead and get started on my way to Omaha that Jacque was going to bring him down there and they would be leaving soon.  I stopped at Arby's to grab something to eat, change Harlow's diaper and feed her and then took off for omaha.  I beat the helicopter by 2.5 hours!  Matt beat the helicopter by a few minutes!  Needless to say I was pissed and thats just another fine highlight of living in the middle of NOWHERE!!!  My biggest fear while I was pregnant with the triplets was of something horrible happening after they were born and being so far from civilization, well it happened.

Maggie was hospitalized from Thursday night till Sunday night, we got home late last night and she is doing much better.  We had really great care at Children's and excellent nurses.  She did give us TONS of scares though.  There were several times she quit breathing on us, its such a horrible feeling.  we are all doing much better today, and they all have a checkup on Wednesday so hopefully they are much better!

Other than all that! LOL! The girls are doing good, growing well and eating great!  We are very lucky, they were born healthy and other than this sickness have been healthy.  I ran into my college roommate at the hospital in Omaha and her little boy has been in the hospital since the day he was born, 10 months ago. I feel so sorry for Jaime as I felt so helpless just watching Maggie laying there struggling for 3 days, I can't imagine what 10 months would be like. I think about you often Jaime and hope Graham does get to come home soon!

People keep asking me how I do it and if I have help, other than my mom no I really don't have help. I have had a few people help out a couple times but I do most of it on my own, its easiest that way and it really isn't that bad. Do I long for more sleep in a night of course but I think any mom of a newborn does that! ;)

We are anxious for spring and summer to arrive as we have a triple stroller now and can go for walks!! YAY!

Thanks for keeping Maggie and all the rest of us in your thoughts and prayers, it really was a scary time and I am so glad she is doing better.  Now we are just praying that Peanut-Blair doesn't get it because so far she hasn't had any symptoms and she is much smaller than the other 2 girls.

I will try to update more often! HAHA! :)

Friday, the 23rd was the triplets actual due date, its hard to believe they are just suppose to be arriving, but they are doing awesome and growing up so fast. Maggie and Harlow weighed 8 lbs. 9 ozs on Wednesday, Blair weighed 7 lbs 5 ozs.  she is our little peanut.

The girls are doing great, Maggie slept through the night once last week and Blair did on Friday night, I think it was just a fluke as it hasn't happened again, but at least I know they can do it! :) Its not too bad though Matt is a great help and I seem to do ok on little to no sleep most days. And you won't ever hear me complain because I know how VERY BLESSED I am to be able to be rocking my babies!  As long as the early morning hours are when I am up sometimes for 2 hours at a time I am trying to enjoy every second of it, because I know that life is so very short and how grateful I should be for those feedings.  My girls mean the world to me and I cherish every second with them.

We had the triplets baptized today and what a special day for them. Maggie's godparents are Pam and Stacey Boes, my cousins. Blair's godparents are Dusty and Rachel Poessnecker, also my cousins. Harlow's godparents are Dan and Suzi Campbell, Suzi is my wonderful best friend.  The girls are very lucky as I know the godparents I chose for them will always remember them throughout their life.

We are looking forward to some more nice weather so we can all get out of the house and take some walks, I am also really hoping a little fresh air for the babies might get them to sleep through the night ;)  I just purchased a triple stroller, so I am anxiously awaiting its arrival so we can test it out.  I had a couple people ask if we still need anything and we do, nothing we can't live without but we could use Avent bottles and extra nipples, Diapers in size 3 or larger, 6 months or bigger sleepers and jammies. Spring and Summer clothes. 2 Bumbo Seats. Gift cards are always welcome as well so we can get them clothes as needed also.

Matt and I want to thank everyone who has thought about us, and prayed for us. We really appreicate it all, the meals, cards, money, and gifts, its all been very great and we appreciate having thoughtful friends and family.

4 weeks old

The triplets are 4 weeks old today and I am still alive! HAHA!! So far it hasn't been too hard, there has been some long nights but for the most part we are surviving.  I even manage to get on here time to time. and I do get a shower in EVERY day! :)

The girls are doing great and stick to a pretty close schedule of eating every 3 hours, which Matt and I have worked out a schedule on too so we both can get more than an hour sleep each night, its working out well. Thankfully I have a wonderful husband who wants to help me out!

Maggie is the most laid back so far, she seems to have the most patience.  She by far is the biggest eater and it shows! LOL

Harlow is easy going as well but when she is hungry she tends to get upset a little faster. She looks alot like me when I was a baby.

Blair has HUGE brown eyes! and she has no patience when she is hungry by gosh its TIME to eat! LOL!

All 3 girls are adjusting well and doing great here at home. Alexis and Hadleigh are also doing well with having 3 sisters at home and having to share their time.  I can say that at times our house is insane, but I love every minute of it and I still have time to do some me things, so apparently this mommy of 5 thing was for me :)

Welcome to 2009!
posted on 01/02/2009

I am sure everyone is dying to know about how we are all doing. I have a few minutes today that I seem to be ahead of the game so I thought I would say hi and let everyone know what its like to be a mom of 5 girls ages 4 and under!
The girls are doing awesome! They eat and sleep and poop and thats about it! They wake on their own every 3 hours for a feeding, which isn't so bad. It usually takes half an hour to feed each baby, so I am up from 1:30 a.m. till about 3 feeding and then back up at 4:30 a.m. to start over. Matt helps me out usually with one feeding.
The are all gaining weight and doing awesome! I have already lost all that baby weight, I weighed 172 when I got pregnant with the triplets, weighed 220 when I had them, and I am down to 170 as of last week  As soon as I get the ok from my doc I hope to shed another 20 lbs at least.
I am nursing and pumping, its very slow going but will continue for at least this month, they all get bottles with formula though, so it takes more time to nurse. so far not going through a ton of diapers they get changed at about every other feeding unless I can smell them! LOL! I am sure that will change soon enough though.
I love being a mommy! I truly feel complete its such an amazing feeling. Matt comes home in the evenings and see the girls lined up in their bouncy seats in the living room and he just laughs, he is SUCH a Proud daddy, its such an awesome feeling to see him with all his girls. He has always been an awesome daddy but he is proving to me more and more each day why I married him and love him so much!
So to sum it up, so far its been pretty easy, we have a pretty good routine and I still manage to make supper, do the laundry, pick up the house and everything else each day, somedays I amaze myself a little at all I did get done.

Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year!
