The Stracke Triplet Girls-Have Arrived!

17 week appointment
posted on 08/19/2008

Appt. today with Dr. Albin again and everything looked great.  All 3 babies heartbeats were great and they were all moving around. I got some more pics of each baby.  Baby B is the only one that was laying in the correct position and the tech is pretty sure Baby B is a girl, but can't tell 100%.  I have an appt. with my peri. doc on the 29th and he will be able to tell us for sure all 3 babies sexes, so I am SOOO excited for the 29th!  Then we will be going shopping for a few items we really need and maybe a few fun things too.

I gained 2 pounds since last week, but my nurse said thats fine. I did eat a lot more over the weekend too as we had a family reunion and there was SOOO many yummy desserts. OH well.  My belly measured at 25 weeks pregnant last week and 26 this week, so that means my kiddos are right on track.  I am 17 weeks 4 days pregnant as of today, kinda scary huh??!! LOL!  My cervix hadn't changed at all since last week either so thats awesome too.  Every week of wonderful news at the doctor means another week the babes have grown and are closer to delivery.  Dr. Albin says they should stay in another 18 weeks and we'll be ready for them then.  That puts me right where I wanted to be, so I am happy!!

I really appreciate everyone's thoughts and prayers. I had a bunch of people over the weekend shocked since Matt told them I am still out mowing and bagging the yard almost every week! Surprised  My doctors neither one have said I CAN'T do things, so I figure as long as I feel good why not. I am very careful not to overdo it, but I don't want to just sit around and wait, I have a feeling there will be LOTS of sitting around towards the end. So for now I do all that I can to stay active and keep things going around here.

Stay tuned for the update next week which will hopefully reveal if all 3 are girls like Matt thinks!

16 week appt.
posted on 08/12/2008

I had my appt. today with Dr. Albin and it all went well.  Things are looking great. All 3 babies were moving around like crazy and look good. 3 strong heartbeats, right were they should be. All 3 measured the same size and are right on target.  Still not able to find out the sexes of the babies, and I was really disappointed as I was hoping to be able to complete some shopping, oh well we will know soon enough.

They also measured my cervix again as the first sign of preterm labor is the cervix changing or shortening.  At my appt. with Dr. Fleming on the 25th I measured at a 6, today I measured 6 again and Tara(my u/s tech) said that is SO AWESOME! She said she hasn't seen a woman with that long of a cervix ever, so she said that is something to be proud of in my situation! LOL!  Aren't you all so glad to know all that now!!!  I did joke with her thats what it took me FOREVER to get anywhere while in labor with Alexis and she said well yes that would make a difference! :)

Dr. Albin measured my tummy and I measure at a 25 week pregnant lady, and am 16 weeks 4 days today.  Yikes!   baby A is breech and lays over to my lower left side, baby B is head down and lays to my lower right side, baby C is the one causing my breathing difficulties the past few days as he/she is laying breech and clear up in my ribs!!! Baby C is making it nearly impossible to bend over or sit comfortably the past 2 days, I hope he/she moves a little so I can sleep tonight.

I have to start seeing one of my doctors every week now, which will make for long drives back and forth to Norfolk, YUCK! But its all worth it!  So I will see Dr. Albin again next Tuesday, have an ultrasound and have my cervix measured.  Then we go to Omaha on the 29th to see Dr. Fleming.  Life here has already become insane so say a prayer for us.

My night was really short last night, with the not being comfortable and getting to sleep. Then Alexis woke up screaming and she had thrown up all over her bed. I changed her and changed sheets and brought her downstairs to sleep on the couch. Spent a couple hours getting her settled and cleaned up.  Got her up this morning and she said she wanted to go with mommy to the doctor so we headed upstairs to get dressed and she threw up again.  I called Matt and he came home and spent the moring with the girls, my wonderful mom relieved him as soon as she could finish up at work.  I have a feeling we are going to owe my mom a new car by the time the triplets hit their 1st birthday!!

So weekly updates will be arriving now, check in often and say hello!!!

Baby Items
posted on 08/06/2008

This week has been slow here, so I started sorting through what we have and don't have for the babies.  Matt is starting to worry about how we are going to do it all financially.  I have been using my coupons and buying diapers on sale to try to stock up so we don't have that huge financial shock.  Then I found a checklist of items to have for your new baby/nursery and started to see what we still needed from that.  Then I thought maybe if I posted here someone would have some of this stuff in storage and let us borrow or buy it from them if possible.  I have tried a few garage sales and had NO luck of finding anything that was clean and in good shape.

So here's what we still need, if you have anything you'd be willing to sell please let me know!

crib, changing table, boppy pillow, burp cloths, bottles, bibs, diaper genie and/or refills, hooded bath towels, wipes warmer, double stroller, carseat covers(2-3), head supports for carseats, bouncy seat, bumbo chair(2), pack n play sheets, bassinet sheets, cradle sheets, crib mattress, and anything else you might see on our registry.

I am trying to save as much money as I can while we can, so I appreciate ANYTHING we can get.

Matt has state softball this weekend in Hastings, I am really hoping that I can find at least a few finds at a few garage sales I hope to get to.  The girls and I are excited, it seems like we don't go anywhere very often so we are ready for a weekend away!

I have a dr. appt Tuesday so I will update everyone on how things are going when I get home!  Thanks for keeping us in your thoughts and prayers, it means alot!

Alexis
posted on 08/02/2008

I keep telling Alexis that we are going to have 3 babies, and she gets that there is 3 babies in my tummy, but I don't think she has any idea what that means when they all arrive!! So Matt had softball games Friday night and one of the Rossman triplets was there. I explained to Alexis that she has 2 other sisters that are the exact same age as her and look ALOT like her.  And that I use to babysit them when they were the same age as Alexis.  How scary is that! LOL!  So I am not sure if I should feel old or not since the girls are headed off to college this fall.  But (I think it was Megan) and I decided that since I was only like 11&12 when I watched them that doesn't really make me old yet! WHEW!!   I need to see if I can get all 3 of the Rossman triplets together so my girls can see them and see how much they look alike and maybe that will help them understand.  Megan, Brooke and Jamie's birthday is Dec. 18th and I want to schedule my c section for Dec. 15th but now I am kinda thinking maybe I will go for the 18th and have 2 sets of triplets from Atkinson born on the same day!!  So now thats my goal!

Its Hay Days weekend in Atkinson and we took in all the festivities today, and it was SO HOT! I am exhausted this evening.  We had to go swimming after RibFest to try to cool off a little, this mama was too hot!  Every where I go people keep asking me how I feel and if I am doing ok, and I really truly am. I feel great, tired of course, but not anymore than I was with the other 2 pregnancies.  I still do most of the stuff I did before. I mow the yard in the heat and hang out laundry and take the girls to the pool.  I really try to rest when I can but I am not letting it get me down already.  I know the later part of this is going to be a long boring road while we wait for the babies, so I figured I might as well get out and do as much as I can while I can.

Tomorrow we will take part in more activities, so I hope I survive the heat again!  Hope everyone is having a good weekend!

Leave a comment for the babies! Say hi!!

Happenings

I am doing good and feeling great. Other than the occasional headache but who doesn't have those right??  I have my next appt with Dr. Albin on the 12th and my appt with Dr. Fleming on the 29th which will be in Omaha this time, so we are hoping for a little family getaway.  I also hope to get the rest of the things that we really need for the babies while we are in Omaha.  So far we have plenty of girls clothes, but if there's any boys in there we are in trouble! LOL

I still need to get a changing table, one more crib, another rocking chair, bouncy seats, 2 more carseats, and of course some smaller things to be prepared enough to bring the babies home.  There's TONS more that we need but that stuff can wait.

I am getting really anxious to find out if we are having boys, girls or both as I want to know what to buy.  I think at my next appt. we should be able to tell. 14 weeks was just a little too early.

The girls are doing great and I am taking Alexis to sign up for preschool tomorrow so she is really excited!  Hadleigh is talking more and more now. This morning she told me "I love Mommy" all by herself!  I was so touched!

Hope everyone is enjoying the last few weeks of summer.  it has gone by too fast.

Appt. News
posted on 07/26/2008

Current update...
Dr. appt today with my peri. doctor, things look GREAT!! All 3 babies were moving all over and kicking like crazy, 3 strong heartbeats. My weight and blood pressure looked good too. I am at 14 weeks today, and 2 babies measured 14 weeks, 1 measured 14 weeks 1 day, so they are perfect. The doctor said the fact that they are measuring right on is wonderful! We didn't get to find out the sexes, too early and only one baby was laying right, but the u/s tech "guessed" girl, which is ok by me, Matthew really wants a boy though, so at least one of the others better be a boy!! LOL! They also measured my cervix and it needs to be at least 3.5 and mine was a 6, so my doc said thats awesome!! Anything less than 3.5 means higher chances of preterm labor, so this was a wonderful feeling.  So after leaving my appt today I felt really good, and think that I really will carry these babies longer than anyone expects!!
Knowing that the babies will be in a Level III NICU just makes me feel so much better, even if they don't need it knowing we are right there will make Matt and I feel more comfortable with everything.  My doctor delivers at this hospital so I will be able to have my c section and recover where the babies are as well.  I told my nurse yesterday that I am going to schedule my c section date for December 15th and the babies and I will be there for 5 days to recover and get checked out and be home in plenty of time for Christmas!  She told me that sounds awesome!
I have had lots of mixed feelings lately, I have some people who think my positive attitude is wonderful and others who I feel think I am in a dream world.  Its not that I don't know ALL the risks and all the scary things that can happen. I do! I have read alot and know alot.  I just refuse to look at it that way.  I decided from day 1 that we found out that I would be carrying these babies until they were all of healthy weight and size to come out and if that means going to extremes so be it.  So far everything is going great and I think its because I refuse to look at all the bad things that "could"happen.  Laughing
Matt and I went to Norfolk together for my appt. so we did some shopping and got a 2nd swing and a pack n play.  I also ordered one car seat, so now we just need 2 more.  My mom was nice enough to order the 3rd cradle we needed so now all the babies will at least have a place to sleep when we get home!  I have also been BLESSED with some wonderful internet friends who have sent me coupons, clothes, bottles, booties, socks and many other wonderful things.  I don't even know these ladies, some of them I have never even seen their faces, but they are becoming some of my best friends.  So thank you!!!
I took some pics to share, so check out that section of our page as well and please leave comments so I can add them to the babies book.

12 week appt.
posted on 07/14/2008

I had another appt with Dr. Albin today in Norfolk, everything looked good.  3 strong heartbeats, 162,157 and 159 so that is great! I am 12 weeks and 3 days as of today and all 3 babies measured at 12 weeks 5 days, so yeah for them they are slightly bigger than suppose to be!! Tongue out

I got more u/s pictures also. I have to find someone with a scanner so I can get them onto my computer to post on here.  I will have another u/s on the 25th with my appt with Dr. Fleming and hopefully we will learn the sexes of the babies that day!

Dr. Albin measured my belly and I measure at 20 weeks! YIKES!! So part of me thinks wow thats awesome right, the other part thinks holy crap will I be able to walk when I am actually 20 weeks!! Surprised

I did a little shopping after my appt. as we needed a few things and ran across some really great bargains at Target for baby items, I am trying to pick up a few things here and there that we will need when I see a good sale or something on clearance.  Maybe by the time the babies arrive I will have the necessities.  We still need so many things it scares me sometimes to think about it all.

The girls stayed with my Aunt Fran, thank goodness she was able to help us out, as my appt lasted 2 hours and the girls would have only lasted maybe 20 minutes in the doctors office! LOL! So thanks Fran, you were a lifesaver!!

Next appt is with Dr. Fleming on the 25th so I will post updates then.

Make sure you vote on the poll!!  Guess if we're having boys or girls or both!!

Tomorrow I will be 12 weeks, right now I happen to know quite a few pregnant women.  Guess what I am bigger than all of them already, even some due within the next few days and month!  This is starting to scare me a little.  Oh well they will most likely have one 7 lb baby and I will have 3 7 lb babies!! Wink

I still feel really good, I get tired of course, but I feel good.  I think I am more crabby this time though as apparently Matt thinks so. Maybe Matt should just find a new place to live for awhile! HAHA!  My crabbiness might have something to do with the fact that the a/c went out on Sunday afternoon so its ONE HOT MAMA in this house! Literally!  We have some good considerate guys trying really hard to get it working for me though.  Its actually not that bad in the house and I slept ok last night in the heat so I am not too miserable.

I have my appt with my OB/GYN on Monday and have to have labwork done and another ultrasound.  I was told before that I could find out the sexes of the babies at this appt. but the nurse I talked to yesterday who will be doing the ultrasound said its too early to tell.  So maybe I will know, maybe not.   For sure I think we can find out at my peri. doctor appt on the 25th.  I am not sure if we will share our news with the public or not. Laughing

We bought some baby bottles yesterday and Haddy said "babies?" and then held the bottle to my tummy, so I guess she does understand.  She will be a wonderful big sister.  Alexis seems excited, but she is the MOST impatient child, EVER!  She asks EVERY day if the babies are coming yet.  Even though I have explained that there will be snow on the ground when the babies come and she has to turn 4 first, and we have to have Halloween and Christmas first.  Whew, she's making me anxious! LOL!

Have a great day everyone, its HOT here and we are off to the park and run errands.
