Tristan is 2 years old today. He had a party with my family this weekend and next weekend we will be celebrating with his dad's side of the family. Today he had a day care party with little cup cakes daddy made. He has already gotten some very cute outfits and fun gifts. I'll post pics as soon as I can.

Tristan will be a big brother next year. His new brother or sister is due to arrive January 1, 2010 but if he/she is like Tristan he/she will be early.

I know our lil deet dee boy will do an awesome job as a big brother.

So we took a trip up to PA to visit with the Endres family. Tristan had a great time. He got to run in their backyard which is about 60 acres. He would just stop and start touching the grass and picking some of it up, I guess being from NY he doesn't see that much of it at once lol. There is a bell in front of the house and he got to ring it. He went through the house checking things out and the girls let him play in their room for a bit. There were a few cats around but he didn't bother them much. It was a really great weekend and we can't wait to do it again.

So today was the inital consultation. Based on the criteria Tristan should have about 20 words in his vocabulary and understand 2 step instructions (i.e pick up that toy and put it on the shelf) but he only has about 5-6 words and doesn't understand instructions. He is fine with everything else (pointing to body parts, coming when you call his name, makes great eye contact, points to something he wants, etc.). So our next step is to have another worker come to our home and do some more tests to make sure he is speech delayed. If he is then we will get early intervention services by teachers and social workers twice a week for 30 minutes. The worker today said we should see results in about 3 months. We are just very anxious to get this process started and see results.

Hey Everyone,

Sorry I haven’t updated in a while. All is good. Tristan is doing well although he has had a few episodes of his croup acting up. He only went to the hospital once and since then we have been giving him his Albuterol everyday and he’s been doing fine. He also started a new day care back in October and we all LOVE it. He has learned so much, he says more words, he’s learned to feed himself with utensils, and he plays very well with the other kids.  He’s cutting down his nap time but still sleeps over 8 hours a night. Funny story the other morning I go to get him to dress him and get ready for day care and he had unzipped himself out of his PJs. The only parts still on him were the arms. He’s too funny!! I didn’t post for Christmas but as usual he was spoiled. He got lots of toys and some clothes. He’s in 2T even though it is a little big around the waist but 24M is too snug, he’s getting a little belly since his appetite is getting better.  We are hoping to plan a skating trip this winter so we’ll see how well he does. I don’t have any new pics to post but as soon as I do you know I will. He’s do for (another) hair cut so maybe I’ll get some good shots then.
