Tristan is now WALKING!!
posted on 11/15/2008

Tristan has been walking for a few days now but I didn't want to jinx it by posting it. He went to PA with Aunt Hellanna to visit Grandma & Grandpa Ridall and I guess from Following the dog around the house he improved his walking skills. He still crawls once in a while when he is tired but otherwise he's walking everywhere without holding on to anyone or anything. We are so proud of him!

Tristan's First Time Pumpkin Picking.
posted on 10/19/2008

We went to Somerset county today to go pumpkin picking. It was so much fun!! Tristan didn't want to be in his stroller so he walked everywhere. We caught him eating the hay on the hay ride lol. He LOVED the goats and when it was time to leave he cried lol. Tristan picked one big pumpkin (ok he pointed at it and daddy picked it up) and 2 little ones (that Daddy is carving). He also stuck his finger in the horse's and pig's nose lol. Good thing we bought hand sanitizer with us. He got his face painted with a little ghost too and sat so still the girl was surprised. We didn't get to do the corn maze cause I was worried Tristan wouldn't handle walking that much too well (plus I was scared we'd get lost in the maze and we wouldn't be found until it was time to harvest it). Check out the pics to see what a good time we had.

Tristan and the disappearing crackers!
posted on 10/08/2008

So Tristan has been giving us a really hard time to eat lately so daddy decided to give him some crackers and leave him alone to eat them (no distraction just him in his high chair with some crackers). Well daddy decides to go check on Tristan and figures out quickly why he had been so quiet (and not because he was eating his crackers like a big boy). As most of you know we have 2 dining room tables and Tristan was in his high chair next to the smaller white one which has an open space on the top of the chair (use to be a decoration on there but it fell off). Well Tristan was putting his crackers down that space! I guess he figured we don't have a dog for him to feed his unwanted food to so he'll improvise and get rid of it one way or another. The stuff this kid figures out to do amazes me sometimes.

Our special Surprise morning.
posted on 08/24/2008

So after a busy day yesterday we slept in late this morning and when we woke up Tristan had a special surprise for us. I warn you this is a "messy" story so if you have a weak stomach stop here.....anyway we walk in to his room and right away I notice something on the wall. I get closer to realize (and smell) it's poo. He had taken off his diaper and smeared poo all over his crib, toys, self, wall, sheet, blanket you get the picture I'm sure! We were too shocked to be mad and of course Tristan has this huge cute smile on his face that pretty much said "no one told you to ignore me for so long". This was our "punishment". Well I start cleaning the kid while Mat cleaned the room. We even had to steam clean the carpet (all before our morning coffee). Anyway we started at 10:30am and are almost done now at 12:51pm. We're still doing laundry but Tristan is taking a nap so I had Mat go check to make sure he is still wearing a diaper, luckily he is.

Tristan's first time at the Aquarium.
posted on 08/03/2008

So we had a family outing today to the NY Aquarium at Coney Island. We had such a great time. It was Tristan, Mommy, daddy, Mandy, Tio Matt, titi Meghan, Jack, and Lily. We had so much fun! The kids got to touch a star fish (which Jack picked up and tossed across the table but it wasn't hurt just gave us all a shock & a laugh lol). Tristan got scared at the Walrus tank when it swam up to him. His face was priceless. It was the baby too, it was born June 12 2007 only  4 days after Tristan! Except had Tristan been born over 400 lbs I don't think I would have made it :-). Afterwards we all went to Astorland where Mandy and Tio played some games and then we went on the carrousel. Tristan held on to the pole for dear life and when he finally let go he kept trying to lick the pole..ewwww! Tristan also enjoyed his ride on the D train back and forth. It was a good day and we all slept very well that night.

Tristan's First Haircut!
posted on 07/18/2008

Ok so it's not his first haircut, he has had trims along the way but finally we agreed it was time for more to come off. Tristan was such a good baby thru it all. He didn't move, cry, scream, or anything else I prepared myself for. He was noisy looking thru the drawers and grabbing hair clips and stuff but overall he was a very good boy and as usual he was the hit of the salon with everyone.

Tristan's One Year Check-Up!
posted on 06/12/2008

Tristan had his One year check-up today and all is well. He got 2 shots, one for MMR and one for Chicken Pox. I didn't want the one for chicken pox since it's not deadly for kids and the MMR was supposed to be split in to 3 seperate shots however Mat didn't remember so he got all of them. The ped was impressed he didn't cry at all for any of the shots (she admitted the MMR one is very painful). He weights 29 lbs and 9 oz and is 33 inches long. Our ped. did tell us to give him more table food and to not start whole milk for another 2 weeks (apparently Milk can react with one of his vacs and cause a rash). His bloodwork was fine and his extra poos are from his change in diet (he's on more stage 2 and stage 3 foods). All in all our little man is happy, healthy, and perfect!!!
