JOURNAL Mandy and her “big sister duties”.posted on 06/02/2008 As most of you know when Mandy wakes up in the mornings if Tristan is awake she goes in his room and changes his diaper. Well this morning Mat and I were getting Tristan ready when we noticed Mandy had changed his diaper and put it on backwards!! LOL…how she manged that we have no idea but there it was…on perfectly straight but backwards. It was such a funny/precious moment that I had to share with all of you. Hope you enjoyed this little story.
Comments (1) Tristan's Recovery posted on 04/16/2008 Hello Everyone 2 hours later the doctor came to get us told us what to expect when we opened his diaper and then took us to recovery to see him. I was NOT prepared to see him looking the way he did. He was laying in his crib with tubes and machines hooked up to him, his mouth was open, and he was pale. As soon as I saw him I started crying. I think It was a cross between relief and a new set of worries about his recovery and how would he feel when he woke up. Anyway 45 minutes later he was awake and he was uncomfortable & hungry. They gave him fluids to see if he could hold it down. He did and he was discharged. We got home and he slept for another 4 hours. When he woke was in pain so we gave him the Tylenol with codeine the doctor prescribed and he slept through the night. This morning fortunately he is himself, crawling and playing and smiling. He hasn't cried yet so I guess he's not in pain and he's back to trying to pull our curtains off the windows lol. Comments (0) Tristan's 1st steps (without holding on) posted on 04/04/2008 Over the last few days Tristan keeps taking steps without holding on to us or furniture. He first did it with Grandma (Nana) and then with the sitter Terriann. I think it's only a matter of time before he's running all over the house. Comments (0) Update...We have a date posted on 03/12/2008 Tristan's surgery will be on April 15 2008 @ 7:15am. We have to be at the admitting office at 6am. Comments (0) Bad news Today at the urologist. posted on 03/12/2008 Tristan HAS to have surgery. His condition is not as mild as the ped myself or hubby thought. He has a 90% bend and his opening is not in the right place. The urologist says when he gets older this will hurt him so it should be taken care of now and we find out tomorrow when the surgery will be Probably within the next few weeks). We have to go to Long Island NY (LI Jewish Hospital) for the surgery (Insurance requires this not sure why) so we will be far away from friends and family. Surgery itself should be about an hour long and recovery will be about 2.5 months. I know he needs this but it still hurts my heart at the thought of my baby going through this and being in pain but again I know he has to have it. Thank you all again so much for the prayers and thoughts!! Comments (0) 9 month Check-Up posted on 03/06/2008
We just got back from the doctor's and Tristan is a "big healthy boy". He weights 23 lbs and is 29 1/2 inches long. She said it was ok to introduce more foods to him as long as there not chunky pieces so we have to mash everything up for him. She also said his gums are very swollen so more teeth should be come in. All is all it was a great visit and now we just have to get through the appointment with his pediatric urologist on Wednesday for the date/time of his surgery and we're good until he turns 1. Comments (0) Tristan's Big Move! posted on 03/03/2008 Well the move was a big success!!! The weather was good and everyone who was supposed to help showed up and they kicked butt lol! Tristan is adjusting well to his new place although we haven’t really let him crawl around too much (we’re scared we’ll lose him in the sea of boxes lol). His new room is adorable, as usual Daddy did a great job. I’ll be posting pics soon. Hope to see you at the housewarming. Comments (0) Tristan's 1st haircut posted on 02/26/2008 We finally decided (with the encouragement of my mom) to trim Tristan's hair. We didn't cut much just those little hairs that stick out on the sides. We were so surprised at how different he looked with just a little trim. Comments (1) |
