Welcome to Toddlerhood
posted on 04/02/2008

We've entered the teetering land of toddlerhood, where nothing is safe--especially baby. Nathaniel has been steadily trotting along since his first birthday and getting into everything. He still loses his balance once in a while and plops on his bottom, but he's off and running. He is officially my third limb and cries if I leave his sight for more than a second.

After getting his year shots, he seemed ok for the first week. Just this weekend, he developed a fever and the injection site was red and swollen. Poor thing... if imminuzations weren't required, I wouldn't want to put him through all that pain.

Almost a year old
posted on 03/05/2008

Well, Nathaniel is almost a year old now. His birthday is Friday the 14th and we're not sure what to do with him. He's still cruising around. Just recently, he has been letting go and "walking" to us about 3 or 4 feet and then he crashes on his booty. Poor little guy. He wants to walk so bad! He pulls himself up on my legs when I'm cooking or trying get ready for school and wants to be held all the time. He is such an attention hog. He's also being a bit more clingy. I can barely leave the house at all without him crying a river.

First Steps
posted on 01/05/2008

Nathaniel has been cruising around the furniture for quite some time now and he's beginning to try and take some steps. Although his little body can't hold his weight for more than half a second, he is so determined to lunge at us with a hopeful look in his eyes. We posted a few pictures from Christmas to show him cruising along the couch. He is just the cutest little man.

Whenever we take him out in public, he scans the crowd for females. He works his charms and puts on a little smile. I think I have given birth to a natural flirt. Everyone tells me that he is going to give me so much trouble when he's older because he's going to be a ladies man. I just laugh it off when I see him starting to flash his two-teethed grin at everyone. What's a mom to do? He's just too adorable.

Immunizations
posted on 09/24/2007

Nathaniel recieved his 6 month immunizations on Friday and he's been running a fever. They cut it down to 2 doses because he got really sick last time, but I guess it really didn't matter since he has another fever. This is such a headache!Cry

Getting to know me...
posted on 09/24/2007

Well, let me introduce myself: my name is Nathaniel and I was born in Fresno, Ca. I have two sisters, Kaylie: 8, and Amaya: 2, who take really good care of me. My mommy and daddy are Angie and Ruben. So far, these past 6 months have been filled with a lot of headaches, joy, and excitement. As I pass my 6th month, we are starting to see how many changes I'm beginning to go through.

I can roll over from my back to my front and (almost) sit up

I can crawl on my hands and feet, with my butt in the air

I can eat solid foods (sweet potatoes are my favoite!)

I am wearing 9-12 months clothing! Wow!

I am just over 16 pounds

I pull myself up on my crib and yell for mom and dad

I coo and talk with everyone, especially the ladies

I already had my first haircut at 2 months old... gotta look sharp!

I can blow spit bubbles

I squeal when I'm happy

My favorite song is "open, shut them"
