Wyatt is getting to be a very big boy!!  He has gained about a pound in a month, and he has grown 3 inches since just before surgery!!  Way to go Wyatt, we are so proud of you!!!  Keep growing and getting to be a big strong boy!!

Mr Wyatt is growing like a little weed!!  He is huge now!  Way to go Wyatt, keep it up buddy!

My head circumference is 16.93inches.  I am still working away trying to gain weight, as you can see!  Well, I am exactly the same weight as I was 9 days ago, but I have grown almost a whole inch!!  At least my weight is not less!

Wyatt is struggling to get his weight up, since his heart works so hard.. we are hoping that his next surgery will help him out with that!  In the meantime, he is on crazy amounts of calories!!

Wyatt had a busy week!  He got to bake his very first batch of cookies!  He and Gabby and Colin went up to Marnie's Lounge with the OT and child life lady, and baked cookies!  They made delicious shortbread cookies with chocolate icing, and Wyatt quite enjoyed taste testing them!!

Wyatt finally got outside for a walk after a year of being stuck inside the CCCU.  He was totally not sure at first, but he enjoyed it!  It took 4 people, and they had some mishaps with the IV pole, they very much enjoyed the fresh air!

So, this one is MUCH better!  And the best part is, Wyatt was FRONT PAGE NEWS!!!  This article told a bit of Wyatt's story, and about our upcoming Gala.  We are so proud of our little man!  And it's the best looking front page of a newspaper we have ever seen!  Here is the link to the article.    http://newsdurhamregion.com/article/117673

Wyatt was very lucky today, and got to take a walk around the Critical Care Unit!!!  He got out of his bed, and got to go in a special stroller made to carry him in a certain position that is good for him with his trache, and also to carry all the equipment they need to bring with him.... the feeding pump, vent, suction equipment, oxygen, and all the emergency supplies, nevermind the regular baby stuff such as extra clothes and diapers!  They did not venture far, just around the unit, but nonetheless, it was an escape out of the room!  We can only assume he enjoyed it, as he fell asleep  It was quite a commotion, with about 8 people who had to go with them, Nurses, RT's, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapist, and Nurse Practitioner.. But, they had to make sure he was safe, and all went smoothly.. and it did.  Hopefully he will get to enjoy this treat more often now, and see something other than the same for walls he has stared at for 7 months now!  YAY WYATT!!!

Wyatt got to try eating with his trache today!!!  This is the first time he has eaten anything by mouth in a very long time!  And the very first time he has tried taking anything by mouth with the trache, and he did VERY well!!!  He got to eat baby food apples and blueberries!   He made some funny faces, but overall he did pretty good!  This is a big huge deal for Wyatt!!  YAY Wyatt, way to go buddy!!!!  We are so proud of you!

Wyatt got his second two teeth (so number three and four, as he is getting them in twos!) today!  These are the top center teeth....Right now we can only see them when he is crying, but hopefully soon he will be showing off those pearly white with his big grins!  No more gummy grins for us!!  He is 13.5 months old!  Way to go Wyatt!!

Wyatts Warriors 1st Annual Charity Golf Tournament was on Saturday June 7, 2008 at 1:30pm at Newcastle Golf Club.  It was a beautiful day.  We had great weather, an excellent turnout, wonderful people, delicious food, and we raised lots of money for Wyatt and Sick Kids.  Next year, Wyatt is going to have his cute little bum there or else!

Wyatt had his first article published in a newspaper today!  The article in the actual paper, and the one you could view online, are slightly different from each other, and the one in the paper didn't have a picture, while the one online did, and it was a very poorly written article (Auntie Laura was NOT impressed) but regardless, its just a few more minutes of fame to add to Wyatts list!!  Way to go Wyatt!!!  Hopefully we'll get a better written one in there one day!

On Mothers Day, when Lisa finally got to hold Wyatt again, she made a discovery!!  Wyatt has two teeth!!!!  The front bottom center ones!  No more gummy smiles for us!!!  He was 1 year and 15 days old!!  YAY Wyatt!!!!

What a day that was!  Surgery was nearly 12 hours long, and he kept us all impatiently waiting to find out what happened!  Surgery was a success!!  Later that night Wyatt arrested, but luckily the Amazing Dr Derek Wong was able to get him back and we are so thankful!

Well, Wyatt becaome even more famous than he already was today!!  Today, Wyatt and Mummy were asked to go on the SicK Kids Radiothon!  SO, I had to write up Wyatts story, about how we found out about his Heart defects, what had taken place so far, what his prognosis is, etc, and our experience at the Hospital so far.  I spoke, while Wyatt slept in my lap (thank god!)  I was very worried he was going to scream the whole time!  Grandpa and Grandma came down and got to see our live debut, and took pictures and video of it! We have asked the radio station to see if they can send us a copy.  If we can get one, we will post it here for everyone who didn't get to see or hear it.  We were on Mix 99.9 radio station, as well as on the internet, you could not only hear us, but also see us!

How appropriate that Wyatts name should mean "Brave, Strong, Hardy Warrior"....  It is partly why it was chosen, as when Wyatt was born, I was down to choosing between Wyatt and Liam, but really couldn't make up my mind..... Well, as soon as we saw that Wyatt was going to have a fight ahead of him, and that he was a fighter, I decided on Wyatt, and it has certainly proven to be true.. .Liam was too wimpy of a name for him....  And since it was totally up to me, Wyatt it was....

Steven was chosen because of a very kind, friendly person that we (Wyatts parents) know.

Berndt was chosen by Erik, as that is his Grandfathers name, and he wanted Wyatt to have his name

We are surprised that Wyatts eyes have not gone brown yet, as both Erik and I have brown eyes, but Wyatt still has these beautiful dark blue/brown eyes, very handsome!  Along with those killer long eyelashes!!  They could melt anyone!

Wyatt LOVES his Baby Einstein movies, as well as Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Winnie the Pooh, and Sponge Bob Squarepants.  I do not know what I would do to entertain him without these sometimes!  He loves the ones that are fast moving, and with lots of color.

Wyatt has some pretty original funny favourite toys!   He loves to play with gauze, saline, stethoscopes, empty (clean) Tim Hortons cups, Subway cookie wrappers, rattles, his gym, and Sophie the Giraffe!  He loves music and lights

Again, we aren't sure where this is coming from, though I did have dirty blonde hair as a small child too, maybe it will go dark later?  Since both of us have dark hair????  Hmmmm

So Wyatt got to move on up, and eat something yummy!!  He got to try Vanilla pudding first...  He made some great faces!!  After a couple days of Vanilla, he got to try Chocolate!!  He definately likes Chocolate better!!  What can I say, he is a smart boy!!

Wyatt first decided to show us he could laugh just before we went back to Sick Kids for surgery #2.  He apparently thought that being told that he has stinky feet was quite hilarious.. .he still does...  he also thinks sneezes are pretty funny,  someone burping is apparently very entertaining too..  This boy certainly has his own kind of sense of humor!  What a great little laugh he has too!

Wyatt finally got to go home for the first time on Thursday August 23rd!!!!   We quickly found out how much he hated the car!!!

Unfortunately, Wyatt absolutely HATES the car!!!  He screams and screams the whole time, until he is so exhausted he can't scream anymore.. which isn't good for him.... It is lots of fun to try to drive alone with him, as  Ihave to have my body twisted around to shake, bounce, rock his car seat, and drive at the same time... Good times!  I will have arms of steel by the time he is out of the car seat... Well, one arm anyways! LOL

Wyatts first try of baby food was Pablum, He was NOT impressed!  He then got to try Sweet Potatoes, and he was equally unimpressed!  You have to remember this is a boy who had never eaten anything by mouth...

Now I will have to go back and confirm the exact date, but I know it was around then, that Wyatt got to go for his first walks around the hospital, and ever since then, he has LOVED going for walks, He likes them in his stroller, he likes them in the baby carrier, he doesn't care how we walk, just as long as we walk.... He LOVES to go to the mall.... I have trainede him well ,and he is an EXCELLENT shopper

Again, we will have to check the exact date when we get home, but it was definately in July, that he gave us his first big gummy sweet grin!

Well, this was Wyatts Aunties birthday, and she was there for this special moment HAHA.. .Wyatt HATED, and I do want to stress, HATED his bath... he turned a real nice shade of blue, screamed his head off.... luckily, with time, he has grown to like his bath a little better, but prefers to have one with Me than alone...

Wyatt likes Cowboy Bunnies, I love you Through and Through,  and Henny Penny,  We have been reading these to him pretty much since he was born.
