Hi everyone,

As Christmas is creeping up on us, so to is the reality that we will not be sharing it with Wyatt this year.  It is a very hard thing for us all to swallow, and I don't think any of us are really sure what to do, or how we are going to get through it.    Wyatt has now been gone nearly 6 months, and it seems hard to believe that it is still sinking in.  In trying to deal with this season upon us, we have been trying to stay busy, and in that, decided a great way to help us get through would be to again help children like Wyatt.  So, we thought that along with the upcoming Gala, we would also hold, with some other amazing families, a Christmas toy drive for SickKids.  I wanted to share the details of both upcoming events with you all, and I hope that you will all be able to be involved in one or both.  Help us give kids in the hospital this year, a Christmas.  Here are the details....

Please join the families of Wyatt, Phoenix, Sasha, Owen and Sawyer this year for our first Christmas toy drive collecting toys for the children who will be in SickKids Hospital (Toronto) over this Holiday season. All of us know first hand what it is like to have a child we love dearly, in the hospital for the holidays, and how devastating it can be. We hope to bring smiles to all the children and families who will be there this year.
There are various locations for you to drop off any new unwrapped toys at, listed below.
Please remember that there are children of all ages in the hospital, from newborn to 18 years old, and they ALL deserve to have a smile on their faces Christmas morning. Anything from mobiles and rattles, to nintendo games, movies, cds, music players, dvd players, small tvs, educational toys, books, bouncy chairs, play mats, anything at all is certainly appreciated and needed. If you want to contribute, but can't decide or aren't sure what to buy, consider a Toys R Us gift card, as they can be used to buy specific things the hospital needs for the kids.  Also, if you are far away, and sending a toy would be costly, please contact me, and if you wish, you can send a gift card by mail, and they will be used to purchase toys/items that are needed.

I am super excited to announce our next event, our 2nd Annual Have A Heart Gala!!!
As you all know, our little Wyatt lost his fight with Congenital Heart Defects on May 16th, 2009 after a very brave, very hard 2 year and 19 day fight. He passed away peacefully in his Mummy's arms, and surrounded by people who love him. Although Wyatt's fight is now over, our fight is not. We will continue to raise awareness for CHD's, and raise money to fight the very things that took Wyatt from us far too soon. We honor the memory of Wyatt, all his friends that we lost along the way, and all the little ones who are still fighting on.
We hope that you will help us continue this fight, and that one day, no child will lose their life, and no parent their child, because of a CHD.

Come out, bring your Valentine, your friends, family, coworkers, anyone at all, just come prepared to have a great time!!! What better way to celebrate Heart Month than this?!
Being held once again, at Tosca Banquet Hall, on the border of Oshawa and Whitby (Ontario), on Friday February 12th, 2010.
Cocktails will begin at 5:30pm and dinner at 7:00pm
Tickets will be $100 per person, and will include your delicious 5 course meal, open bar, live entertainment, DJ, dancing and door prizes!!! We will also be having an amazing silent auction, and raffles!

Photographer, Kelly Newell, will be back to capture the great moments of the night, and take photos of couples, groups etc as requested by you.

Funds raised this year will be going to the Heart Center Highest Priority Needs Fund, which more specifically within that, will be directed to Detection of Fetal Heart Disease and Team and Long Term Family Focused Functioning in the CCU.

I hope that this year will bring even more people out, raise even more awareness of Congenital Heart Defects, and make an even bigger impact for the kids still fighting for their lives because of a CHD. Most of all, I hope you will all help us honor Wyatt's memory, and make him proud. Let's have an amazing night, for an amazing cause.

There are a limited number of tickets available, so please get yours ASAP. I know it seems far away right now, but believe me, it will be upon us before we know it! It is a great way to celebrate Valentine's Day, and support a great cause all at the same time. I guarantee you, you will not get a better night out.
