JOURNAL

3 years old!!!

Hi everyone!! Well as you all know, Zoe turned 3 on the 17th!! Our little girl is growing up so fast...

She had her 3 year well child check up this last week and she is doing amazing! Her weight was at 28.2 lbs and she was 35.75 inches tall. She is in the 25th percentile .. Doc said she's on the small side but still perfect! They also took her blood pressure for the 1st time. It was so cute seeing her little arm in that BP cuff.. that reading was also good: 98/61. Her vision was excellent (20/20) and her hearing was good as well. Thank God for our healthy child!

Zoe is doing really well in school! We've starting having her read to us.. She's recognizing certain letters and words! She's so smart! The doctor was really surprised at how much she knew at her appointment.. She constantly amazes me on a daily basis!

We had some super cold weather this past week~ it even snowed enough here to shut the school down and make snowmen!! Unfortunately mommy still had to work, so Zoe stayed w/ her Nana. We didn't get to build an actual snowman of our own, but she did play in the snow for a minute and we took some pics with the neighbor's !! I added those pictures too!

I will post another update soon! Everyone take care! ~ Jamie

OMG....

Y'all would not believe what little Zoe did this weekend....

OK, the door to her bedroom is not a normal bedroom door--the doorknob has a lock on it..like an outside door. It was like that when I bought this house, so needless to say I didn't have a key..

Well, I was in the kitchen cooking dinner and I walked back to her room and she was trying to unlock the door w/ her "keys"..SHE HAD LOCKED THE DOOR FROM THE OUTSIDE. We weren't able to get in! I tried everything..the credit card trick, an ice pick, a letter opener,  and various keys (in hopes that one would magically work)..nothing worked.. I called Justin to see if he had an ideas.. Nothing.

So I went and got the hammer! I banged and bashed and beat the tar outta the doorknob trying to get it to fall off w/o damaging the actual door. It wasn't working. All I did was manage to dent the knob..Soooo-- I started beating a hole in the door Surprised I made one large enough to get my hand threw to try and unlock from the inside--but my beating the knob to death made it to where it wouldn't even unlock.. this entire time Zoe is standing by me crying, asking "why you breaking my door mommy?" I couldn't help but laugh..

I went and put on my shoes and started kicking the hole--the door finally cracked and opened up! Justin said these doors are about $25 at Home Depot (cheaper than calling a locksmith).. so needless to say her next door won't have a lock on it!!

(I've attached a picture of my artwork also!!!!)

Still not sure about Santa this year....
posted on 12/09/2009

Zoe was super excited about seeing Santa this year--she talked about going for 2 weeks. Thankfully we didn't have to fight the crowd at the mall..My mom works for a dentist office and one of the Oral & Facial surgeons that they refer to has this thing they do every year where they decorate the office really pretty..They have drinks and snacks and Santa is there to take pictures with and the kids are able to tell him what they want for Christmas.

Families can come and take as many pictures as they want and they put all the poses on a CD for you. The best part... ITS FREE! What a nice change from spending $20 for a wallet size photo at the mall!! LOL

Zoe did much better this year than last.as many of you remember from our Christmas cards! She wouldn't tell him what she wanted for Christmas, however she did go sit on his lap and we managed to get a few good shots--Maybe next year we'll even get a smile!

Merry Christmas to everyone if I don't write another journal before then! I hope everyone has an awesome holiday season- be safe!!

Such a Big Girl Now...
posted on 11/22/2009

First of all, Happy Thanksgiving to everyone....we all have so much to be thankful for!

Zoe is doing really well w/the transitioning between my house and Justin & Cassie's...I can't imagine how confusing it must be for a 2 yr old to be shuffled back and forth every other wknd and not know why? So what could be a really difficult thing....we are making it work quite well!!

I apologize for not updating this journal like I should..Zoe keeps me super busy every night and by the time she goes down Im pooped!! SO I will try to update as much as I can today.. I have 4 months worth of stuff to talk about! Laughing

Zoe is still LOVING her new school. I made the decision to move her about 3 months ago.. I knew something was wrong at the old one--she was biting everyday and obviously wasnt happy..She loves her new teachers and friends and hasnt biten once since she's been there! We are so thankful for that!

Zoe is learning so much these days. She knows all her ABC's, she can count to 17+, she knows her colors, shapes, animals, and is currently learning her days of the week...Its absolutely amazing how much shes learned over the past few months... I just listen to her in awe while she's talking.. She has her pretend cell phone she talks on and carries on long conversations about nothing! Its so cute--and she will play mommy w/ her baby dolls..it cracks me up when they are getting in trouble! LOL~ She's finally starting to like watching TV. She is VERY into Dora and Mickey Mouse right now. Her favorite song at the moment is "Jesus Loves Me"..she will sing it over and over and over again while we're driving!

We hit a milestone yesterday morning..Zoe has been deathly afraid of poo-pooing on the potty..She's been potty trained for awhile now as long as its tee tee..but not #2..until yesterday morning! It was only one little poo poo ball but its a start..

As you can probably tell, Zoe is growing like crazy! Justin has noticed recently how her face is slimming down and she's definitely getting taller.. Its hard to find jeans b/c her waist is still very small but her legs are very long.. Thank goodness for belts!

I can't think of anything else to chat about.. I will promise to check this website most frenquently so if anyone has questions or if there's something you want me to talk about that I haven't just leave a comment and I'll write about that next.. Until next time~ JAMIE

Here you go Justin!!

Sorry its been so long since I've written a journal entry. Justin can't seem to understand how hard it is to find the time to do things like this-- LOL.

There's really not a while lot to update. Zoe did start a new school again this week. She seems to really like it alot so far. She was acting up big time at the old school-- biting, hitting, etc. I wasn't sure what was going on but I knew something had to change. Hopefully this will do the trick! She fits right in with the other kids and really enjoys the teacher too. No biting yet this week either-- so thats a good sign! Smile

I am looking into putting Zoe into this dance studio in China Spring too. I called about it this week-- they want the kids to be completely potty trained before starting; so we have to work more on that. She still wont poo on the potty yet...any suggestions anyone? But I am looking forward to that..they teach ballot and tap. How cute she'll be in her little tu-tu!

I would love nothing more than to be able to upload some of my pics too to the site, but apparently my computer is too old to be able to download the software that came with my new camera.. I cant get any of my pics onto the computer.. I might try and get on my sister's laptop while Justin has Zoe this coming week.. We'll see. Then you guys can see some really old pictures-- I have some from her birthday still I need to upload!

Other than that, there's really nothing else new.. We are working on Zoe's ABC's and 123's-- she's doing really well with them-- She can count to 10 in spanish too (with my help) and she's learning all kinds of new songs.. she loves to sing and dance now--and she's talking constantly. She's such a precious little angel! We are so blessed. Hope everyone is well-- talk to you guys soon.. oh and Ashley & Brian- if you're reading this-- CONGRATS on the baby!! -- she's beautiful!

Hi everyone! Hope all is well.. Things are going great with Zoe and I. She is just growing and learning and talking up a storm! She recently moved to the Toddler B class and since then she's just been talking like crazy! It's awesome.. She's saying her alphabet better, knows exactly what letter is what...colors, shapes, #'s. She can count to 4 by herself. She's so smart!

She's quite the little helper too! I have recently planted numerous shrubs around the house, completed my flower bed and planted a new tree! Zoe LOVES to help dig weeds and water everything.. she even gives the tree kisses (she thinks they'll help her grow) Laughing

Well...here's the most recent thing that was a first of all of us... Last night Zoe was in the bath. There wasn't much water..I let her play for a bit then I'll bathe her. Well I had someone over at the house finishing up the central heat and air job (YEAH!!!!) and he was leaving so I went to shut and lock the door behind him. All of a sudden Zoe started screaming....it scared the crap out of me b/c she was in the bathtub..I ran in there and she was standing up.. had let all the water out and there it was.....a brown log. She pooped in the bathtub for the first time ever. It was soooo funny but then again it wasn't b/c it had scared her so bad! She clinched onto me and wouldnt let go. I wrapped a towel around her and cleaned it all up.. but she wasn't even trying to get back in! LOL. So I took a bath with her. She was ok after awhile. But everytime we talked about it, her eyes would well up and lip would curl--so sad! But yes, it was quite the experience!

Not a baby anymore....
posted on 02/23/2009

Well, our little baby isn't such a baby anymore. As most of you know, Zoe had a birthday on the 17th. I had a party for her at my house the weekend before and Justin had one at his the weekend after. Lucky girl!! She had a blast at both parties. Mommy got her one of those John Deere Gators..she LOVED it!! I got it about 2 months ago and it was so hard to hide from her until her birthday.. she can ride it and make it go..we just need to perfect the steering... I'm not sure exactly what Justin got her.. he never told me. ??

I tried to post the pics from her Waco party but I got a new camera and had to install some new software to make it work.. haven't tried again yet. I will post as soon as possible! The next thing I"m fixing to look into is getting Zoe into dance. Laughing She's growing up so fast--sometimes I can't believe my eyes and ears.. She's learning so many new things.. words, facial expressions.. it's awesome!

I hope everyone is doing great! Talk to everyone soon! Jamie

Happy New Year!!!
posted on 01/13/2009

Hello everyone! Hope all is well. We are doing fabulous! Zoe is geting huge! We are getting ready for her 2nd birthday (I can't believe this)... She is completely adjusted to her new school, my home and Justin's home...and she loves Sadie now (her puppy)..

We had the most wonderful Christmas. Santa was awesome! Zoe got so many things. She got 2 kitchens. One at my house and one at Justin's. She cooks for us both all the time. She wakes up saying "eat". Laughing She is doing and saying so many new things now. I can't wait for everyone to be able to see her again. It's amazing how much more she can say/understand now that tubes are in her ears. All her check-ups have been great. It's probably time for the tubes to fall out.. haven't seen them yet though...

Justin sends Zoe back with bumps and bruises every other weekend now. HAHA. Just kidding! She is very clumsy though. I actually went to Houston to visit over Christmas holidays and she walked into Tam and Steve's with scratches all over her forehead andcheek. She had fallen while running on concrete...then later that weekend we were at Justin's and all the kiddo's were jumping in the blow up inflatable Justin got them.. She and Kaler (sp?) slammed into each other and his head hit her cheek bone. She actually had a black eye from this incident. I'm surprised school hasn't called CPS yet. LOL.

Other than that, all is well. Not much new going on. I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and Happy New Years!!
