Zoe's Birthday posted on 02/18/2008
As you all know, Zoe turned one on Sunday. We had her birthday party on the 16th despite the rainstorm and horrible weather.. it never fails. The turnout was decent. Our house isn't huge, so it worked out pretty well. Our good friends from College Station (Bob, Clint, Karie and Bianca) got to come down.. it was great seeing them all. They haven't seen Zoe since she was born. We had fajitas and snacks and Zoe opened her presents (A HUGE THANKS TO EVERYONE FOR HER GIFTS!!) and then she had her FIRST taste of sugar-- it was so funny to watch her eat her cake. She stuck her chubby little finger in there and just licked the icing off like a little cat! It was adorable. I will post pics as soon as I get a little time! I started boot camp today..I'm gonna be super fly skinny! As soon as I'm able to walk regularly... We also went to the ear, nose and throat doctor on Friday. They said that Zoe's hearing has been muffled and she can't hear as well as she should. We've decided to have tubes put in her ears. The procedure is scheduled for Friday, Feb 29th. They said it shouldn't take but about 30 minutes and she'd be fine that afternoon. Makes sense now why she isn't talking more or walking. Hopefully everything will be tons better once we fix the ear problem. She is still as happy as can be despite her constant ear infections. I'll keep u guys updated once we have the tubes put in. And check back this weekend for the birthday pics!

Can't believe it.... posted on 01/18/2008
Zoe is now 11 months old and she is constantly learning new things. She waves hi and bye-bye now, blows kisses sometimes, makes noises like an Indian (puts her hand up to her mouth and makes noise) its so cute! We are getting ready for her 1st birthday party. It's going to be so fun much. I cant believe out daughter is fixing to turn a year old! Makes me so sad to think about how fast time has gone by. As most of you probably know, Zoe has been sick alot lately. She keeps getting ear infections (about 4 now) and has been on antibiotics too many times. We have an appointment with an ear, nose and throat specialist on Feb 15th to see if they're gonna need to put tubes in her ears. I hate the thought of our 1 year old having surgery, but I will be glad when she no longer has earaches. On another note...our once placid, easy going daughter is now the most headstrong, determined little girl I know. She figures out what she wants, and by God she wont stop until she gets it. It's so funny to watch her. She's a spitting image of me. She also has traits from her daddy when it comes to throwing fits! We are in for a long journey ahead....

Christmas Break posted on 01/02/2008
We had a great (but exhausting) Christmas. Zoe was VERY blessed with all her gifts and such! Her daddy stayed with us Christmas Eve so we could both wake up with her on her 1st Christmas morning... then we opened presents and did stockings. Once that was done, we got on the rode to Houston. Yay.. 3 hours later the crazy week began. We went non-stop for 5 days! Zoe went to her 1st Texas A&M game last Saturday. It was alot of fun! She was amazing as always. We were very glad to be home Sunday. It'll take us a month to catch up on our rest. New Years was pretty uneventful (for Zoe).... She is feeling alot better now though (she had been sick for a couple of weeks). She's still "army" crawling all over the place. Still not walking yet. I'm sure it won't be too much longer though. She has also gotten another tooth.. that makes 4 now. 2 on top and 2 on bottom. And she loves to bite now. She'll come for some kisses and then bite your lips! Ouch! My crazy little girl!

New Things posted on 12/16/2007
Zoe is just growing up so fast. She will be 10 months tomorrow. It feels like just yesterday I was pregnant! She started saying "mama" a few weeks ago and is also now saying "dada". She said it for the first time last week while sitting in the living room floor. Justin had her this past weekend and apparently she was saying it non-stop. It is so exciting to hear her starting "talking". She is getting around so well now and is also pulling up on everything. She stands on whatever we will let her! Today she was in the kitchen while I was making bottles and she pulled open one of the bottom drawers and started pulling things out... it's crazy!! She is doing so many new things... Keep checking the site for new updates.

Check-up posted on 12/08/2007
Zoe went for her 9 month check up yesterday. Everything is great. Doc said her weight and development are right on target. She now weighs 16lbs 12oz. So she's gained about 2 lbs since her last check. Her length is now 26 3/4 inches. Daddy will be taking her next Friday for the 2nd half of her flu shot. Now, for the big news..... Zoe said "mama" for the first time! Yeaaaaaah. It was so cool. I didn't hear her say it the first time. My sister came running in the kitchen and told me. Then she just starting repeating herself over and over. mama mama mama.. it is the neatest feeling to hear her say it. Now we are working on "dada"....I can't wait for Justin to be able to hear her say that....

We took Zoe today to get her pictures taken as well as our first family portraits. It was quite the adventure. Zoe did well as always, but now that she's able to move around and she knows it--she wont sit still for anything! She made it very difficult for mommy and daddy to hold onto her and we tried to get pictures of her on her stomach and she kept trying to crawl to the camera lady! But overall, they all turned out great! Zoe goes for her 9 month check next week (I know I'm a little late)..I'll keep everyone posted on length, weight, etc. Hope everyone has a great week!

Happy Thanksgiving posted on 11/24/2007
This was Zoe's first Thanksgiving. It was wonderful. We started the day cooking the big feast for Grandpa Hootie's family then we sat down and ate Turkey and Green Beans. Zoe sat at the table with everyone else just like a big girl. Then we went to Nana's and watched the Cowboy game! The next day we packed up and went to Daddy's. Zoe got to see her Grandma (Dana) Moyer for the 1st time in a couple months. Then we watched Texas A&M beat Texas in the annual rivalry. We had a blast. Saturday we attempted to shop at Katy Mills Mall. It was soooo crowded. Zoe was amazing as always. She is the best daughter any parents could ask for. We shopped all day and then crashed pretty early. The next morning came early. We went to the Lakewood Church with Paster Joel Olsteen. It was an amazing day. It wasn't like normal church though. Members and staff went up on the stage and gave their testimonies. Mommy and Daddy both cried as we took little Zoe up to have her prayed over. It was a very emotional and moving day.
